We were crap in that second half. 2nd to every ball.

You brought the pressure on yourselves by backing off, but that what sides in a relegation scrap do. Latics have been in enough for me to know.

The penalty was a correct decision, should have been a red too - but still cant beliece we didnt get one for an obvious handball in the first half.

Beat of luck for the season.

Thought Odebayi was lightweight and some of his ball control was poor today, but did some sublime moves to set up Tutte for a well saved shot in the second half. Symes was a revelation today - lets hope he keeps that sort of performance (and us!) up. Great goals and delighted for him. Tutte, Darby and JK worked very hard and kept us competing all game. Everyone else put a shift in (against 14!) and we got the rewards.
Credit to John Coleman for getting that sort of skill and commitment out of the players.
If we had stuck with Eyre, the fat lady would be singing Encores now...

(Also, most amusing to see the Sandy Laners get into Harry Bunn's head today first half - some of the songs he got cracked him judging by the looks on his face and his general inefficacy. Heh)

Am I the only one who thought the treatment of Bunn today was out of order and showed no class? the lad did sod all wrong in a Dale shirt and couldn't be blamed for SE's dismal failure, left a sour taste in the mouth for quite a few in the Sandy...Thought we treated ex players better than that at Dale, the only negative today for me..

I thought Symes was superb, although plenty still alating him through a large part of the game.
Tutte absolutely outstanding, not been his biggest fan this season but he was just awesome. Obadeyi looked dangerous and a threat throughout. Sadly he generally wasn't and he generally didn't seem to know what to do. Clear talent there though and some pretty good cut backs.

Substitutions superb, the changes in formation worked very well and credit to JC.

Very well done today, that needs to be the start of a great run. If not then we're in good hands for next season.

Timmytiptoes was'nt convincing at all for first 15/20 mins to say the least however he played much better and more involved when he switched to the right

I also thought Temi was crap early on and hoped he would be subbed.....however credit to the lad he got more involved and I think he turned a lot of our fans in his favour, having a fine debut over all.

Well done Temi lad!

Agreed, thought Darby had a really solid game.

Obadeyi looks short of confidence, was a good cut back for the Tutte strike that was wonderfully saved.

I think that Darby is out of contract in the summer. I would certainly offer him a deal.

Isn't he on a season long loan from Liverpool? Cannot see him getting in the Liverpool squad next season the way Kelly has performed. Could be a class act if he was a couple of inches taller.

Back to the starter of the thread. The hand ball in the first half was clear. Unfortunately for Oldham the arm had a white shirt on.

The penalty was clear, sending off should have ensued.

JLAA's goal and Lee's goal should have both stood.

The second yellow for the send ing off was not a booking.

I thought there was such a clear push for their "equaliser" that I wasn't in the least bit concerned about it going in. Must be getting confident in my old age.

I thought it was given for offside Col, no sign of a push for me from my seat in The TDS.

Agree on the second yellow. However only someone in line with the linesman could speculate if their late effort should have stood. He was flagging as soon as the ball was headed.

It was right in front of me and it was a clear push. I thought that JLAA dived, although the Biffo should have been sent off earlier for a professional foul.

The sh!te ref indicated a push when dis-allowing the goal, which IMO was right.

The funniest part was the retarded biffo entering the pitch and belly flopping.
3 year ban £500 fine to follow, made my day that...

Should we have a bucket collection on Tuesday v Trannie to cover his fine?

And the dry cleaning bill for his Amani suit?

Yes I agree with that - I take pride in the fact that we always welcome back ex-players, unlike some teams. Bunn took a lot of stick which he didn't deserve.

The tannoyman did Bunn no favours welcoming him back before kick off.

Did Gary Madine get a mention the other week?
Did Stephen Bywater before the same game? If they did I didn't hear it (and Bywater has indirectly been a reasonably big part of the club's history).

Highlighting Bunn's return after a less than great loan spell in an era which we're still recovering from was as unnecessary as any songs.

The ref clearly indicated he was disallowing the goal for a push.

Whether there was an offside or not, I never noticed as I was too busy laughing at the pitch invader.

I thought it was a strange decision to make that announcement pre match. Harry Bunn was never our player, he was a loan signing, and bar the Preston game, not a very good one...I didnt hear any bad things said in the TDS, bar a couple boos when that announcement was made, but I think it brought it back to people about the times when he was here, not his fault though.

Life is a game of fate.

Oh come on, what are you 8 years old and sad for him? It's all football banter.

To be fair, Harry Bunn didn't exactly leave in the greatest of terms, when his dad was here, he wasn't here because of his dad, he was here because he wanted to play for the club and get first team, suddenly when his dad gets his p45 he ups sticks.

I personally found it amusing and would do it again.

Indeed you're right, because I along with many others sang, nothing which was really too offensive, to an opposition player, who has a bad history with the club and who i don't really like, I have no brain cells.

Great spiel.
