"The pay-as-you-play deal" - whenever a potential signing is rumoured or suggested who is obviously a) too fcking old, b) too fcking expensive, c) qualifying for a hip replacement on the NHS, d) one of life's genuine arseholes who's blown up every dressing room he's ever been in, instead of dismissing the idea out of hand one is duty bound to suggest a pay-as-you-play deal. That he wouldn't accept this, and that this doesn't really exist, is irrelevant.

"Digging down" - whenever discussing the merits of a new stadium, of trying to redevelop the one we already have, one is duty bound to suggest digging Loftus Road down into the ground. The fact this would also dig it down into the water table and effectively create a world leading water polo venue for a good six months a year is also irrelevant. Will also accept "building out over South Africa Road" and "adding a revolving restaurant".

"Les was crap to start with as well" - whenever debating the ability or otherwise of a new striker, due consideration must always be given to the fact Les Ferdinand was total dog sht when he first got here. Please see three years of Conor Washington debate, or 17 pages (and counting) on Lyndon Dykes' move to Birmingham.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this one. "Get him his coaching badges and keep him as a coach" this is to any player who's had a half decent season and nearing the end of their career.

Our payroll should consist entirely of ex players coaching minute facets of the game

Factually accurate indictment of our propensity to dull the pain of supporting QPR using alcohol, leading to hyperbolic statements, lies concerning our sexual prowess / penile endowment and repeated demands for a return to a back three with Kakay as a right sided centre back because 'it's his natural position'.

If we'd have picked a stronger team for that cup game, we'd have been more competitve in the defeat.

This game is all about "Integrity" but we are doing well and there will be a lot of noise as a result and we have to take these opportunities seriously.

But I want to prove myself here first !!

'He needs to go out on loan'.

The notion that any 2nd year Development Squad player who is not yet ready for the 1st team will automatically be readied for the 1st team by being packed off for months to a lower League team.

Contrary to the fact that most loans end with the player sitting on the bench for most games and subsequently being released, any youngster who has been around our Development Squad for a while 'needs to go out on loan'.

I see your "needs a loan" and I'll raise you my "needs a League 1 loan" - which arrogantly assumes our loanees would walk into a League 1 side (!), and overlooks the fact that, for large chunks of recent seasons, it's looked as though our entire squad was on its way to playing in League 1 - for us.

"Best finisher at the club"
Another justification-euphemism used by club representatives for spending money on (and extending the contract of) a striker who will never ever make the starting 11.

Maybe they meant "Best finisher of a club".

Just to be clear, I'm not digging out Kelman. I actually quite like him, and I hope he does really well for LO. He might even return after his loan spell and do a job for us.

Ryan Manning syndrome, where you become a better and better player for QPR the longer you don’t play for QPR.

I spotted this gem in Clive's latest match report

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

We always seem to need Shaun Derry. Even when we don't, someone will still say we need him. We are always a Shaun Derry from world domination. Need someone to win tackles in midfield? Shaun Derry. Need a nasty bastard? Shaun Derry. Need experience? Shaun Derry. Need a leader? Shaun Derry. Even when we have all of those things and things are just not functioning as well as they should, Shaun Derry would sort it out. He was even people's pick for manager after Ainsworth despite previous evidence proving that wouldn't be a great idea. I reckon we can't be more than a few defeats from someone suggesting Shaun Derry as the new CEO.

A Gaelic blessing for a recent dearly departed person held in high esteem on LFW. It emanates from Co. Cork and if you can get it on an Irish scrabble board, its an instant 156 points and the win!
