FIFA World Cup thread. 12:02 - Nov 15 with 138825 viewsSnipper

I’m trying to get excited about this World Cup, but to no avail :-((.

I’ve just watched Sky Sports World Cup preview with Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp, Jamie Carragher & Karen Carney. Utterly depressing viewing. Same old, same old. Picking players for the starting XI not playing for their clubs, or totally off form.

I’m hoping this thread can get the juices flowing.

Do any of you think England have a chance?

Man alive it requires some guts to take a free kick like that, in the dying seconds of a game like this

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

The Dutch playing like Wimbledon in the 80’s. Very effective though.

Don’t they both have a terrible history with penalties ? Croatia will be licking their lips.

Argentina are pretty solid, 1990 they beat Yugoslavia and Italy, 1998 England but came a cropper against who else but the Germans in 2006.

Argentina's better than we thought. Lineker has just said they've won four out of five at the World Cup.

On the football Ramble podcast, they said that the Argentinian FA have paid for flights and accommodation for 50,000 fans?

Well that’s nice. Bit of a mystery to me, a bit like Cliff Richard. ( blame Micky Flanagan for that one).

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

He said one of Argentina’s penalties was down the middle, when in fact it went right in the corner.
