That's great stuff. I never realised the White City Estate was pre AND post-war. Always imagined it was all from the 30s. 1939 image below.

What were those sheds for - anybody know?

Also, I first went in 1967 and stood on SARoad. I don't remember those trees being there (they are also in the 1947 pics).

Those were exhibition halls, part of the White City Franco-British Exhibition, built in 1908:

'For the Franco-British Exhibition of 1908, 20 huge palaces and 120 exhibition buildings were built on a 140-acre site by a workforce of 120,000 men. The exhibition was eight times the size of the 1851 Great Exhibition in Hyde Park and showcased the industrial and cultural achievements of England and France.'

If you look at this Network Rail history page, you can see the halls on the left of the map:

I wanted to copy these pics, put them on USB and get photoshop to print images that I could post to a mate in Oz who hasn't a computer. It won't let me. Any tips ?

Depends on your device. Most recent-ish Apple computers have a 'Screenshot' app that allows you to click and drag on any part of the screen to capture and copy it. It should copy these images with no problem.

On a windows PC I just hit the Print Screen button (after making the image full screen) and then paste it into Paint.

I tried the Windows Key + Shift + S method but the copyright protection of the image kicks in. It looks like it kicks in when you hit the PrtScn button but when you paste the image, it's fine.
