Sad to hear of Peter Lorimer in a hospice 11:34 - Feb 27 with 3506 viewsFrog

He was my first footballing hero after watching the 1970 FA Cup final and replay against Chelsea. My first kit was the classic Leeds with the big owl on it, complete with number 7 on the back. Later had the number 7 sock tags too. A great player with a bullet of a shot.

I was later tricked into supporting The Dale........................

Seconded. An iconic player in a legendary team. Fantastic player to watch and a genuine 'edge of the seat' player. It's very sad to hear that he's been admitted to a hospice. One of the greats of that era, for sure.

Agreed.

Also part of the Scotland 1974 World Cup squad that returned home unbeaten having only lost out on goal difference by failing to score more than two goals against Zaire.

Leeds United was well represented in that Scotland squad: Lorimer, David Harvey, Joe Jordan and Billy Bremner.
