The Pilot, Mumbles. 19:05 - Nov 6 with 2321 views | Private_Partz | Spoke to Jo, one of the owners today. The pub is reopening after nearly 9 months on Monday 9th. IMHO a decent boozer run by nice people and a local business that deserves support of those wanting a decent socially distanced pint of real ale :-)

Played football for the Pilot and we run a saturday team called Southend which was pretty decent but after promotion we got bored. Great position and people love the craft brewery type thing.

The Pilot, Mumbles. on 22:01 - Nov 6 with 2192 views | Boundy | One of the few pubs left in Mumbles, I found it particularly sad to see it shut for all this time. When open it always looked busy . Although the Antelopes rebuild is on stop and now the George has closed its seems craft beer is the way forward

The Antelope is taking a very long time. The George is one place I had hope for - look how the Mermaid is doing.

Actually Mumbles is becoming a hotbed for real ale. Beaufort Arms, Norton Mumbles Ale House ( the old Victoria) Park Inn Pilot Inn Ty Cwrw. All in the CAMERA Guide. Once the pandemic is over I can see a revival.

Think they have run out of money in the Antelope. All gone quiet over there. Brains are selling the George. Just as well as they wreck virtually every pub they take over. The hope is an independent will move in there.. The George could be one hell of a boozer if that was the case. [Post edited 7 Nov 2020 10:09]

The Pilot, Mumbles. on 10:22 - Nov 7 with 2070 views | onehunglow | I havent set foot in Mumbles for a good 18 months but when last there, the ad site of a dilapidated Mumbles iconic watering hole was deeply upsetting. I thought it would be demolished so the fact it's still standing is something

I liked the Ale House when it was by the library, it was like drinking in somebodies front room but it only needed a few in there to give it a good atmosphere, which it always seemed to have. Been up to it in the Victoria and it wasn't the same and was very quiet, so I'm not sure why they moved?

Let's hope the George is sorted out. I was thinking how wonderful Mumbles is looking with all the quaint little restaurants opening on the front with the "beer gardens". It gave me a warm glow knowing how lucky we are to live in such a pretty village in such a stunning location. When my family from Surrey visit, they are always gushing with compliments.

The Pilot, Mumbles. on 10:48 - Nov 8 with 1956 views | onehunglow | I lived in Mumbles too and summertimes were a pain with trippers everywhere. Winter was far better but grey days are gloomy everywhere . I had a wedding reception in the Beach House and swam -whist drunk- opposite . Terrible night followed as did the ensuing years.I have therefore mixed feeling on Mumbles.
