Watch with the sound turned up, and compare the loft to what it's become now.

There was a thread on here the other day about falling out of love with QPR. This should bring back some fond memories

A Fulham mate and myself were in Auckland NZ at the time, and had been at the main stadium watching the Commonwealth Games that day.

I phoned my mum up in the morning (night of the game) and I couldn’t believe it when she said we’d won.

I really thought we were gonna win it that year.

Id like to sit Warburton, Hoos, the FA, the Premier League and the ghost of Phil Beard in a darkened oom and force them to watch that from start to finish, to remind them all of the days when the F A Cup was played like it meant something, Loftus Road hadn't been vandalised in the name of 'safety' and 'inclusivity', and, in short, what football can be, but is now a pale shadow of.

Everything deteriorates, sadly, or is made to. Esepcially things that are good.

One of my favourite nights at LR ever. Even the SAR was rocking. Wind and rain blowing right up the back of the stand but the atmosphere and the performance were incredible. That's also how I like to remember Kenny Sansom, not by what happened to him in later years.

Also note the two full strength sides pre Premier League.

I remember that match so well.
I was annoyed about the replay date because I couldn't go.
I'd already bought tickets to see The Wedding Present at Brighton Top Rank on the night of the replay.
It was a brilliant gig though. Went in the kebab shop on West Street afterwards and they had those highlights on.
Went proper mental in there when we scored those 2 goals.

I was there - incredible night, packed in the East Paddock. We also beat Arsenal again 2-0 in the league a few weeks later - Super Ray (RIP) and Roy in their pomp.

Should have beaten Liverpool in the QF...

What a fcuking night that was. Ended up buying a ticket off a tout outside. Whole place was rocking. One of the great nights at Loftus Road, still remember that Sansom goal hitting the back of the net and Roy on his back by the Ellerslie when the second one went in

I'm loving this.

My favourite home game. (I'd moved back to Ireland for the Oldham game).

We're still at 0-0 in the first half, Bardsley and Sansom are roaming, Wegerle is marauding, even Colin Clarke is playing one-touch.

More to follow....

HT here, rain falling. They're playing nine across the back in the replay (penalties?) but we're still killing them on the wings with Bardsley, Sansom and Wegerle roaming. Arsenal's big men at the back being bamboozled by Don Howe's one-touch football. (How would you like your irony served today?)

Going well in the second half. Have them penned back.

Win a free kick.

Still, corner for us at the Loft/SAR with the Arsenal Robots looking short-circuited.

It's not looking good.

That corner was cleared by the robots.

Bardsley shoots over.

But my Fugg we're going mental anyway.

What a f@cking night that was!

Sansom's goal was probably my favourite of all time - until BZ.

And all with the knowledge of a weekend in Blackpool to come! Lorks!!

They've got a free now. Clarke heads clear but Sinton messes up the counter. He cares nothing for our club, that lad. He won't return and be our Dalai Lama.

Bardsley intercepts at right-back and beats three people. He's no good, that lad.

Cross-field ball to Sinton.

He's no good that lad.

This game is ALL Rangers. But I can see how it's going to go.

0-0 and we're cresting beautiful, flowing moves around their robots.

What a night that was. I’d still swap it for Parker’s header going in at Highbury, though. Would’ve been the most mental go batsh-t crazy Rangers goal celebration ever.

Sorry, Brian, carry on.

Well, terraces packed with everybody standing and singing, brilliant stuff. Now they've barred all of the people that made the atmosphere great and done everything they can to stop people singing. I hate the sterile new brand of non-contact on the pitch, tennis-like sitting and non-singing off the pitch. So staid now in comparison. Painful.

You’ve just saved me typing all that.
Definitely in the top 3 nights I’ve seen at LR. Arsenal FA cup , Wigan playoff semi, Liverpool in the PL, unfortunately I didn’t see the Oldham game. The other one would be Chelsea’s the milk cup although we drew it was packed and the atmosphere was superb, I think the attendance was 27000 exactly as it was all ticket even in the terraces.

favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL

I only watched the first 6:40 of the video and reckon there'd have been 2 red cards (Bould, Groves) in todays game. That's not a criticism, they should be red cards, but it did highlight how much the game has changed. It was a lot more frantic back then too, games seem far more controlled now, again not a criticism just an observation.

I’ve forgotten how good we were! Fair play to Arsenal too, what a cracking game. Into the East Paddock straight from work, one of Suits You’s finest (grey double-breasted with fine green pinstripes) died in a good cause.

Some great ad boards - Levitt Group (I think it collapsed soon after), Whitechapel Car Auctions, Acton Town Garage for Lada, Influence designer leisurewear for Soccer, and squeezed into the corner, Live Soccer on Sky. Whatever happened to them?
