I get the feeling we can’t afford wages or signing on fees of experienced players.

These loans aren't cheap.
Abraham cost around £4 million plus wages
Sanches €8 million plus wages.
18 month loan, is that a thing?

These won’t be anywhere near in same ball park as those and we will most likely lose plenty on permanent deals this window and next.

Wasn't Andre Schurrle on the verge of joining us on a 2 yr loan deal only to get injured and the deal collapsed then we got relegated

Yep, it was then revived for Fulham to do the same, although it ended early when they got relegated

Yarmolenko got injured when he was at Dortmund rather than schurrle that led to the deal falling through.

We didn't pay Chelsea a loan fee for Tammy, we only paid his wages

How much have we paid Scott since he rocked up it all seems a waste of cash if you ask me.

I suppose he can scout all he likes but if there’s no money it’s a bit of a fools errand

Great that we have so many youngsters in the side.
Any truth that we are signing that Brazilian lad Foetus?

Not sure on that one, but we are signing the Sri Lankan lad Justpoppedouthismama

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Don't know anything about this youngster, but our team is screaming out for a talented midfielder IMO.

Even MORE talented than Tom Carroll?

If Leon wasn't telling fibs, then the main work he will be doing is in this summers transfer window, we shall see...

Two separate season long loans wasn't it? I remember the will he/won't he rejoin after his first season.

I'm assuming it was all to do with money, otherwise I don't know why we didn't tie him down here; seemed a pretty strange situation all round.

And then he was treated really badly by Napoli which almost ended up finishing off his career and crippling him. That was all getting pretty bnasty at one point with threats of legal action flying around from both sides. I'm not sure how it ended up.

Soon as Laudrup went Ki was in favour and JdG was sent packing.

Played a lot of football as a junior at full back, so if he can play across the back four more than useful acquisition.

Signing defenders and attackers seems to suggest we don't understand where we're getting it wrong. You can rearrange the deckchairs of the Titanic in defence and attack all you like but until we improve midfield you're still going to struggle to create chances and will put the defence under pressure. Get a proper defensive midfielder in and everything else will fall into place.

Completely agree.

Don’t get me wrong, going by what Liverpool and Chelsea fans say about Brewster and Guehi, they look decent additions and you can’t help but be excited by it, but I can’t get over we could potentially have another window if not strengthening what has been our glaring weakness since Leon retired.

Loans can vary from free with a % of wages to high fees plus full wages.

Just like signing players, it's all a negotiation depending on the wants of both sides.

It's only the 9th of January, plenty more time for them to bring in a few more.
