Leicester Fans on 18:53 - Jan 8 by this_charming_man | I remember going there midweek in the 90's not many saints fans there, great game which ended up a 3-3 draw. Went to Filbert street 3 times and that was the only time I saw us get anything. Never seen us win the new ground either. 3 losses. |
I went to the 3-3 midweek draw as well. After the game, I was pissing blood in the gents’ loos in the away end. Concerned, I went to the doctor’s the next day, who advised that it was an affliction suffered by rugby players who get over-excited and jump around a lot too much. Anybody stood near me at the game might have perhaps understood this. I felt quite relieved after that.

It's f*cking embarrassing and gets worse every season we're up. The Northam and Kingsland north seems to be some weird homing beacon to the oddballs these days, and one or two have even popped up in the Itchen North. Though at least in the Itchen North they're told pretty quickly not to embarrass us.
Leicester Fans on 21:01 - Jan 8 with 1096 views | TimSaint | Midweek Dec 2001 Leicester 0 - 4 Saints Superb away day with goals from Anders Svensson 2, Beats and Pahars Drove up and found a great boozer on the way up, just turned off the motorway a junction early and stopped at the first one in a village that I don't remember the name of. Experienced my first chicken balti pie that night as well - must have been the beer on the way up !! 2003 Kevin Phillips scoring a belter from 25 yards, maybe on his debut ? Came off the bench to score and I think set Beats up for the equaliser - that after we were 2 down inside the first 10-15 mins ?

"2003 Kevin Phillips scoring a belter from 25 yards, maybe on his debut ? Came off the bench to score and I think set Beats up for the equaliser - that after we were 2 down inside the first 10-15 mins" ? Think it was the other way round? 1st away game of the season and 2 up then let 2 goals in to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory. Weren't we singing about being top of the league when we were 2 up, or was that another of the flatpack ground corners at Derby where once again I believe we were 2 up but managed to do the draw snatched from jaws of victory act yet again (see its not a new thing we've been doing it for years!!) Certainly the Philips goal was at Leicester, a cracker it was too and built up an early air of anticipation for the season ahead. EDIT .... had to cheat and look it up .... we were as you stated 2 down early doors and made a SKP inspired comeback. In my defence I was right about 2 up at Derby though and it was there that we were singing about being top of the league ... a bit later they were singing the good old 2 nil and you effed it up!!!! Villa also showed tat we needen't worry too much about Saturday. If it wasn't for a couple of stupid mistakes with the taking of that free kick it would have been a win for Villa Let's hope the 2nd leg remains as a 0-0 although I somehow think Brenda may be having a few words

That’s what I thought. I’m rarely in the UK outside of summer and have only been to one premier league game in 15 years I think with my then boss who’s a Chelsea fan. We were in the away end at the Emirates and outside of signing songs about van persie being a sex offender, they were all very polite and well behaved and there didn’t appear to be any interaction at all with the home fans (boring 0-0 from memory so maybe that had more to do with it).

Leicester Fans on 12:15 - Jan 8 by Wints76 | Horrible lot. Remember our visit there in 94 when we were pelted with sharpened down coins. That ended up with me being arrested and chained to a radiator a la Terry Waite. Pretty snide with what they were chanting at both Liverpool and Everton fans, but would probably go down a storm on here. |
I didn't get to the game in '94 but was at Filbert Street for our 2-3 win in October 1986. It was a cracking game. If memory serves me correctly, we were 2-1 down and came back to win the match. The goals were scored by Colin Clarke, Danny Wallace and George Lawrence. I remember playing pool in a Leicester pub with some of the home fans and, as others have said, they were not the most friendly types. Despite that, though, great memories of a tremendous away win!
