I'm late to the party with regard to this band/album but it's highly recommended. Powerful stuff, the story of the Welsh mines during the latter half of the 20th century told through the narration of those involved. You can hear (in order) the pride, the determination, the despair and the resignation in the voices involved. So cleverly constructed as a whole, the quotes are memorable and paint a clear picture.
One of the tracks here, complete with NCB footage from back in the day.
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever.

Every valley is a great record. They supported the Manics at the Liberty too. My son goes to the same school as OMD as did The Coral, most of Clean Bandit and Daniel Craig.
