According to a pal of mine Norwich are looking to splash the cash on Hogan. It's in today's papers, if that means anything.

Well with a boost like a possible £1.8m surely it would be prudent to pay off the stadium deal instead of having it hanging over the club.....

Sort of agree ........pay off a chunk of the debt but keep a lump back for working capital.

The loan taken out to pay off the stadium debt is less than half the £1 8m being bandied about

electricblue, you've just got your first thumbs-up from me

Who wouldn't pay off what is, in effect, a mortgage if they had the chance, whilst still having funds in reserve? That's IF that kind of sum came our way

I dont see why not if the money for hogan does come to dale......

What was the annual figure gof the stadium was it something like £60k for the n3xt 10yrs.....
That amount would do wonders towards the clibs infrastucture and maybe the odd players to boost the squad...
Maybe even to boost several players wages to keep them....

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

Was told months ago, 'on good authority', that the money from sale of Matt Done was being 'held back' to pay off the stadium loan. Perhaps it's been spent on something else but i can't think what!

Still another month until the window and plenty can happen so not getting any hopes up, but if a windfall like this could effectively render the club debt-free with ownership of its own stadium, a huge debt of gratitude (no pun intended) would be due to everyone involved.

Considering Andre Gray was sold to Burnley for £8m rising to £9m, Scott has scored the same number of goals for Brentford in just more than half the games (26 as opposed to 48). Considering he got 7 in 7 after an 18 month absence is incredible, and watching him on Brentford's highlights, he is always creating chances, he's ideal for a team looking for someone to score goals to fire them up to the Prem.
Surely worth £10m+ in today's market, meaning we pocket £2m+?

Perhaps his injury problems will curtail his value slightly, £8m would probably be a good deal for both the buying and selling club.

Tangled up in blue.

Seeing as Ed Balls is Chairman of the Canaries would Scott have to have a dance audition?

If we do strike it lucky with Scott's sell on from Brentford - what a massive piece of good fortune that he didn't end up at Peterborough still in league 1. Dale board had accepted their 800k offer only for Hogan and his agent to wait for something better. Brentford have been wonderful with Hogan's long injury recovery - he may have had the same injury at Peterborough and not been the same again. All ifs and buts but hopefully we will all benefit hugely from this. We get a massive pay day - and Hogan makes it to the Prem.

Hogan has been linked with a £9 Million move to Villa in January, to replace Gestede.

The more interest in him the better.

I am trying to see things from Brentford's point of view. I'm assuming they paid us a fair and reasonable amount for Scott, taking into account the injury he had had with us. They were then very unlucky that he had another injury soon after the transfer. They then got him the very best of care - and I realise that was in their best interests, as well as his. They never bemoaned their bad luck, nor tried to put any blame on the Dale for selling them damaged goods. Are they not entitled to more than 6 months reward on their investment, care and patience?

I realise my infrequent posts usually signify the end of a thread. I'm never sure if if it is because I am an infrequent poster and thus not part of the in-crowd or because I write total rubbish :)

IF Brentford do sell SH and get a whopping fee of eight - ten million, then they would have made a massive profit, thus done very well out of the deal with the Dale . Both Brentford and Dale will have done very good business if indeed SH does get sold for such high amount. Brentford rely on buying low and selling high , as they don't get massive crowds.
