I flew with them recently from Dubai to Heathrow. They were flipping awful. Scruffy crew, Dodgy food seven in a little cardboard box and no service what so ever. There was a seat missing across from me and the interior of the cabin was awful. Tiny tv screens and generally an uncomfortable journey.

Was on the same route , had a TV crew bouncing up and down the isle for the most of the flight filming the Australian ballet company to make it even worse , was in business class and honestly it was like a scene from airplane at one stage , it just needed a nun and a guitar to finish the trip off. The bought the food out and we said sorry not eating this , so they bought us a bag of crisps out as a replacement .
Why is a wombat complaining about Australia? Most of them like it here.
Welcome to our famous national carrier! Yes, they are struggling, but you were taking a flight not from or to Oz and so would get the rubbish. I did a long distance domestic flight a week ago from Perth to the east and the plane was, as you say, from the 70s. Also in business (FF miles) and they had the monitors that come down from the ceiling to watch the movie. You could not avoid watching it. Agree their food is not much to look forward to on most flights and worse in cattle class.
However, in their defence.. they still have the best safety record of any airline. They also have quite a decent FF system. I only use them long distance when using FF and that in business.
Oh, and there is no "U" in Qantas (Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services).
Good luck finding a way to give feedback and I'd forget the Customer Feedback form.

I've been on quite a few long haul airlines and Qantas and British Airways were easily the worst. The likes of Etihad, Air New Zealand, Singapore etc are so much better.
Qantas is an interesting one. I haven't used them recently because I found them so poor when I did. However I have seen several articles in the media here recently ranking them as one of the top 3 or 4 airlines in the world and banging on about how wonderful they are. I found this hard to believe and it seems, based on comments here, that it is yet another case of the media talking up something local as being far better than it actually is knowing most readers won't question it

Were you on a codeshare or did you book Qantas Will?
Sounds like you are due a refund, I have never flown Qantas business but the food service should be a highlight on any business class long hall and if it was that bad you should some money back

Would agree Sydney. It is more likely to be a local media beat up. It is normal for them to do that, especially if Qantas were also advertising through them. Flown many times with AirNZ and SingAir. Both heaps better.. and don't get me onto Australian airports when compared with overseas. Yeesh! United are probably even below Qantas but Air Canada are quite decent and Lufthansa is improving. I've done three RTWs and the last two, when the combined airline service was available, were with Star Alliance. Dying to try Etihad though.
I fly quite a lot from Perth to the eastern states Adelaide, Sydney etc so over the years I’ve seen quite a lot of changes to Qantas and some of the latest is crap like getting your food in a bloody box but that has only been on the domestic flights, I fly to the UK every year and book my flights via Qantas but living in Perth Qantas only have one international flight a day and that is to Singapore the rest is code share and we have the luxury of using Emirates so we fly back business and the food/service you cannot fault, we have thought about flying back next year with Malaysian but with their recent track record may well stick with Emirates

Funny how experiences vary. I make several long haul trips a year and have flown in all four classes. I have yet to find an airline that beats BA.

One time the stewardess behind the bar challenged us to a cocktail game. This consisted of shutting your eyes and flipping thru the cocktail book and her saying stop. The cocktail that the page landed on was duly made and downed. I managed 3 before the beer started calling.
Sadly I wanted to land on the stewardess, she was gorgeous.
Been on Qantas a few times. Gay stewards and Enna Sharples look a like stewardesses
BA are OK except cabin crew are all getting ancient. BA crew are very robotic and I find many of them have a cold empty smile.
Singapore Cathay Eva Thai all he above pretty good and you get your monies worth in biz

Emirates Biz Class on an A380.
You can stand at the bar and drink all the way.

Skytrax top 10 airlines for 2016, Emirates are no 1.
TOP TEN AIRLINES OF 2016 1 Emirates 2 Qatar Airways 3 Singapore Airlines 4 Cathay Pacific 5 ANA All Nippon Airways 6 Etihad Airways 7 Turkish Airlines 8 EVA Air 9 Qantas Airways 10 Lufthansa
Watched 'Big Tone' being interviewed earlier this morning, might have to drop the big bit as he's dropped some weight, anyway...he and the Bloomberg reporter were very bullish regarding the future prospects for AirAsia. Never flown them, presume everyone is fed by feed bag, but never one to hold back on a decent investment.
Aside from that, not the greatest worrier about who has the best airline, just want everything to be reasonable. Find flying somewhat of a bore these days, so really helps if the tv choice is varied and up to date.

It sounds like they should rebrand this as an authentic 1970s flying experience.
Flown qantas, BA, air New Zealand, Singapore airlines, virgin, Turkish, Lufthansa and delta airlines in past 18 months in Business, premium economy and cattle class over past 15 months. All reasonable enough to be fair with exception of Turkish which was pretty poor. BA long haul business is what I use as a benchmark as it is a pretty good average offer. Rated Singapore probably best and found Cathay pretty decent as well. Emirates very much depends on the route being flown I felt, London d x usually pretty good. Air New Zealand was good short haul as was qantas to be fair. Airline that surprised me positively was delta, seemed so much better than the other us carriers.
Never knowingly understood

I used Eva in March for the first time and liked them a lot. You can't beat a bit of Hello Kitty as you're hurtling into the ocean.
My only criticism was liquid related - very difficult to get more than half a glass of anything out of those doe-eyed beauties. I think it must be cultural or something - they could probably trudge through the jungle for days on a quarter of a carton of Ribena. I on the other hand am a bit softer and less determined and need to hydrate and dehydrate at regular intervals.

On a side note, can I say one thing that has really upset me about the new regime is the complete lack of air hostesses at player signings? In my opinion a player signing without air hostesses is not a player signing worth having.
Air hostess clique

Flown Air Asia a few times. Bit like Easyjet but Red instead of Orange.
Last Time I flew the cabin crew wore jeans and an air asia T-shirt. Nice to see tight curves on tight jeans and loads of lipee. The girls looked good as well
