Do you know what - I absolutely do. I think a lot of traditional Plaid supporters can't bear the current incarnation.
The well done David Cameron thread on 20:44 - May 8 with 1234 views | perchrockjack | cant see why they wouldn't. If youre a welsh speaker and don't ascribe to welsh nationalism then why vote Plaid and if plaid is only there for welsh speakers then what pray tell me have they to arouse the traditional "working man". Answer..nothing. ITS WHY THEY keep Gwynedd and Aberystwyth areas ..

The well done David Cameron thread on 21:06 - May 8 with 1210 views | skippyjack | Something needs to be done about my generations future.. I hope the Conservative majority down the Gower will give me the support I need.. And hopefully the Labour party can fix the mistakes they've made with me and many others.. So we can at least have a fighting chance!

The well done David Cameron thread on 19:57 - May 8 by exiledclaseboy | I'm happy to say well done. What happened last night was a truly remarkable political achievement by Cameron and the Tories. A looming disaster for the UK though unfortunately. Id like to trot out the age old "we get the government we deserve" cliche but we never do. 65% of people didn't vote Tory yet they've got an absolute majority and can do whatever they want. Democracy, British style. Mental. |
You do come across as rather bitter. I doubt you would be that bothered if labour were in the same situation tonight as the conservative are. A looming disaster ? I don't think so. A looming disaster would have been labour propped up by the snp.

Not at all. I railed against the inadequacies of our voting system all through the Blair years too. Dr Winston will back me up on that if he's still online. FPTP and its lack of democratic legitimacy is a long standing bugbear of mine. You may think I'm bitter, you're entitled to your view. You're wrong though.

Yes I would have. I said something similar regardless of who won prior to yesterday in the election thread. You're making incorrect assumptions.

The well done David Cameron thread on 22:12 - May 8 with 1031 views | cwrw | Anyone voting Tory should be ashamed of themselves. Cutbacks, food banks and children in Wales living below the poverty line is what we have to look forward to. The NHS will be underfunded but they'll make sure there's plenty of foreign aid and jobs for the jolly boys from the private schools with the funny handshakes. Not forgetting the bankers laughing at us and the media safe in the knowledge that they conned the electorate. As has been said before just for what happened at Hillsborough no football fan should ever vote for them. The police murdered football fans and the Torys helped the police cover it up. Both as bad as each other and should never be trusted

What about Blair and WMD, which resulted in hundreds of thousand of people being killed. As for cutbacks you can't spend money you don't have.

The well done David Cameron thread on 23:55 - May 8 with 943 views | epaul | Not my words but definately my sentiments Congratulations Britain! 99% of us are completely f*cked, as is the NHS, the education system and my entire generation. You've voted for food banks instead of freedom, for the rich instead of the poor and worst of all for profit over people. You've successfully been conned into thinking that things are better than they were 5 years ago. Despite the soaring number of homeless people, children being raised in poverty, families relying on food banks and the empty shell of what was once an incredible national health service run for the benefit of the public not private sector profit. You have voted for the party that tricked this nation into bailing the banks out of a crisis that the bankers themselves caused! You have voted for a party that allowed the wealthiest 1000 people in this country to double their wealth in just 5 years. In the meantime working class people's pay packages have been hit their hardest for 40 years. You voted for the party that allows the richest 1% to pay on average a real terms tax on their wealth of only 35% percent while the bottom 50% pay an average real terms tax of 45%. You've voted for the party whose MPs almost all voted "NO" on a law that should have been passed to allow investigations into alleged historic paedophilia on a mass scale to be carried out more thoroughly and honestly. Do you know why? Because some of the alleged persecutors were ex Tory MPs and Conservative party funders! You've voted for the party who have sided with Rupert Murdoch to create and unfair and at times racist smear campaign against Ed Miliband and his party. You've voted for more privatisation, austerity and social warfare. You've voted for a party whose main purpose is to generate wealth for their business owning, bank running, rich, shareholder friends. At the expense of everybody else. So I say once again Britain, well done. A real standing f*cking ovation for you.

Much as I enjoy a bit of old fashioned ranting, it'd be so much more effective if a lot of it wasn't factually incorrect ! Does anyone actually stop and think 'is this right' anymore, or does everyone just nod their heads and yell 'B*STARDS' at the top of their voice?

Thing is, its rants like those that people are starting to see through and are what are costing Labour and the Libs and why UKIP, despite the lack of seats, are gaining a lot of votes - as much as the Libs and SNP together. If you sit there (as you well know) and go through it line by line and think about it, its full of holes and inaccuracies like you mention. But people lap it up. Half truths, stories, agendas and lies. I wish people would think about things a bit more instead of just believing everything that was put in front of them. Theres usually a bigger picture.
