Two weeks in the parallel universe in which our owners and management currently exist equates to any period of time they want to make it back on planet earth. |

Ron11, genuine question. Given that the last previous post on this subject appears to be as long ago as August 8 is there any particular reason you should comment on September 5 ? I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t have done it but to me it appears odd to wait so long. |

No, because our current manager doesn’t appear remotely interested in whether we win, lose or draw games, only if we retain the ball more than our opponents. |

Pat, I think you need to change April to Christmas or possibly even Halloween my friend. Derby’s all time lowest Premiership points record is currently well within our sights to add to Ralph’s home and away 9-0s embarrassments. There’s never going to be an end to the agony that Southampton Football Clubs owners and its management can inflict upon its loyal supporters don’t you know. |
| Forum Thread | Would a certain manager be quite happy to be sacked ? at 18:25 31 Aug 2024
Perhaps not so silly as it appears at first sight should that manager :- 1. Have had his contract recently extended thus with entitlement to a large severance payment. 2. Have recently had a team promoted to a top division at the first attempt giving him every opportunity of obtaining another similar appointment based on that record. 3. Have a complicated private life not best served by constant media glare. |

GRIM, I said with the possible exception of K W P, nonetheless I take your point and you could well be correct. |
| Forum Reply | Now what? at 12:57 31 Aug 2024
Yes, and we still don’t have a physical centre forward ( having let Adams go ) who can play with his back to goal and hold up play. To me, we’ve now accumulated a massive squad of interchangeable outfield players who with the possible exception of K W P are all throughly average. And of course the salary outgoings that accompany them all. As it stands, the question now is who is going to score the goals necessary to keep us in The Premiership ? Personally I truly hope I’m wrong but at the moment I just don’t see it happening. |
| Forum Thread | Where is the centre forward we desperately need ? at 22:13 30 Aug 2024
Yet another winger as Ryan Fraser signed and any number of midfield players now on the books. Question. As it seems increasingly likely that Ross Stewart will never make a significant contribution, who exactly is going to put the ball in the net for us on a regular basis ? |

Another winger to add to our collection and still no Centre Forward. Has the Ramsdale transfer been completed ? If not, what’s the problem now ? |

Yes, in the Sports Republic parallel universe that the Owners, Board and Management team inhabit such a team has already done the Premiership and F A Cup double and are winning 3-0 with two minutes to play in the Champions League final. |

So, having pissed about for weeks we now have days to secure a deal for a replacement keeper. From a negotiation point of view an absolute disaster.Every club that we now approach will appreciate that we are running out of time due to the window closing shortly and they will increase their players valuation accordingly. Honestly, is there anybody in Sports Republic’s management team that has any idea whatsoever as to how to run a successful Premiership Football Club ? On the basis of some of Sports Republic’s decision making since our return to the top flight we are going to be relegated before Christmas. They relegated us before and so far give every indication of doing it again. |

Middle Aged has beens who have wasted a fortune, relying on the gullible to give them their hard earned to maintain a standard of living they would still have, if they hadn’t wasted a fortune in the first place. |

As are Stuart Armstrong and Ryan Fraser. We have a weaker team now than the one that finished last season. |
| Forum Reply | Brazilian striker on radar at 21:21 26 Aug 2024
Thanks, that’s something I suppose Pat, but why oh why are we always behind the curve ball when it comes to getting players to join us ? By this weekend we will have played nearly 10% of our 24/25 fixtures . The window opened weeks ago yet once again we are shopping for last minute bargains. It happens nearly every season. What have the transfer panel ( or whatever they want to call themselves ) been doing, other than buying a never ending quantity of very young inexperienced midfielders to shovel off to Turkey ? |

Please tell me if I’m missing something here, if we are successful but can’t complete before the deadline then what is the point in bidding in the first place ? |

If you’ve got a spare couple of minutes UTS1885 have a think and try and understand the following:- “ I disagree with every word you say but will defend to my death your right to say it” It could well be the best use of a couple of minutes of your whole life and assist you immensely going forward. |

Absolutely superb post Southamptonfan, thank you. It sums up in four paragraphs exactly what is,and has been wrong with our club for years. Will anything change with Sports Republic at the helm ? Not the slightest chance unfortunately. |
