Fantastic report, felt like I was there! So a question - what does a forward need to do to get a 9/10? I felt Frey deserved it - led from the front all game, pressed, couple of decent efforts first half and turned the game on it's head second with an assist and the winning goal. As influential as Freeman in that Leeds game I reckon. You're like my stingy university professor who never gave out any As ;-) |

I’m so looking forward to him playing with Dembele. There were times today when we were crying out for someone to hold the ball up and bring others in to get us up the pitch. Illy is that man.
Frey will get the plaudits but shout out to Smyth who pushed Doughty back and Colback who I thought gave a solid, disciplined performance before he went off with a sprained cock. Also Varane when he came on held the ball up well and used his strength.
What a win! Unexpected, although I did have us down for a 2-1 win in the prediction comp. I had Dunne as first scorer as well  |

Don’t really get this one with Jimmy and Santos … unless JCS is going and Dunne will move to the middle. Would have thought left-back backup is a more pressing concern. Oh well, in Marti and Nourry and Belk we trust. |

I wondered what the cupping of the ear was in the direction of the west paddock. Did it with a smile though and agreed, very good player. I hope Marti looks at Burnley’s 4-1 win over them first game of the season. Played through the lines on the counter. |

Agreed, that Swans v Cardiff was largely bereft of quality. Ronald (minus the o) was quick but his shooting was worse than mine. I've always liked Harry Darling, proper centre-back, leader and dangerous at set-pieces. You're right we mustn't revert to Ainsworth/Rednapp-style deference to the big teams, we proved last season that we can compete with, and beat, the big boys in one-off games. But we need that consistency that top 6 teams seem to find over the whole season and that's going to require a big improvement in our home form and for our big players to stay injury-free as much as possible. We still look a bit under-cooked fitness-wise but I wonder whether that's intentional as it appeared to be at the start of last season? |

I'd tend to agree with Antti on this - for example all three promoted teams have looked decent to me, Plymouth were the better team yesterday when 11 v 11 (apart from the first 15 mins). Even Cardiff are playing out from the back. If anything the standard of the Championship is improving year on year and our summer recruitment up to now has recognised that - we needed better players, more pace, athleticism, quality on the ball etc. I don't think just being well organised or good at set pieces is going to get you very far in the Championship these days. Watch me be proven wrong now and 'Wawhl and Stoke get promoted! |

Welsh Wales Derby and Willock Watch … currently 1-0 to the Swans who have dominated but can’t find the second. Willock taken off on 72, largely ineffective.
1-1 now Callum Robinson equalises. Impressed by young Colwill for Cardiff, built like a rugby player. |
