Along those lines two of my favourite Sci-fi drama series which got cancelled way too early were “Dark Angel” James Cameron’s innovative post-apocalyptic dystopia from about 2002 and “Firefly” Joss Whedon’s kind of space Western, which was criminally cut after only one series at the same time.
Really enjoyed The Peripheral. First thing I’ve really seen Chloe Grace Moretz in since Kick-Ass and thought she was excellent, as were the mind bending ideas and visuals of the production. Prompted me to read William Gibson’s book, which is very different but I think both book and TV series stand up pretty well on their own.
Sorry just downvoted you in error. In fact I completely agree that the amount of money that Cardiff have to throw around seems pretty inexplicable. Let’s hope it comes back to bite them on the rse.
She just didn’t look right at all from the start yesterday and it was such a contrast to the previous rounds. Against Mertens and Sakkari she was hitting the ball deep to the baseline and going for the corners. It was really frustrating watching her yesterday because she kept hitting floaty half-court balls to her opponent who understandably was gobbling them up and hitting a stream of winners. I don’t know if this was a deliberate tactic but it sure was asking for trouble.
His ego is so big and he’s so lacking in self-awareness that he couldn’t even conceive of the fact that he was a handicap to the Portuguese team. To leave him on for the full 120 minutes when you had strikers of the quality of Jota and others on the bench made no sense. Martinez must have been too intimidated to take him off.
Yep I watched it as well and she played extremely well, probably better than she’s done at any time since the US Open. She seems to be in a good place again mentally, relaxed and enjoying her tennis. I think her confidence seemed to get to Sakkari, who made an amount of unforced errors that you wouldn’t expect from a player of that quality. As you say, possible banana skin in the next round but if she can maintain that standard she has nothing to fear.
Looking forward to Emma’s next match this afternoon but it’s now looking highly probable that it’s going to start at about the same time as the Spain v Germany game which is a bit unfortunate.
The next round is going to be an interesting one for Raducanu. I can remember watching that US Open semifinal in the early hours of the morning and before the start Maria Sakkari was bouncing up and down in front of Emma and flexing her impressive muscles in an attempt to intimidate her. Emma then flattened her 6-1 6-4 so I imagine Sakkari will be out for revenge tomorrow.
Apparently he wants to play as a 10 and what Jude wants is what Jude gets. Southgate has to insist on dropping him back alongside Rice to play Foden at 10 and Gordon wide left.
Yep, because Foden drifting into the middle and Trippier always turning back to use his right foot was such a conspicuous success in the last game. Meant our attack was totally one sided.
