| Your Report | Burnley v Queens Park Rangers Your Report added at 21:40:17 Hugely disciplined performance, especially defensively in 1st half. Dieng - 2 saves a game. 1 after Benson headed against bar. 2nd from Rodrigues header, late on. Otherwise fine. Drewe - struggled against Zarour before injury Dickie - best game in months. 2 goal line clearances Dunne - solid Paal - kept their biggest threat under control. Except for their goal. Iroegbunam - anonymous but helped shore central midfield with Field - immense. And great technique for goal Adomah - worked hard to protect his FB Chair - worked his socks off to restrict their biggest threat Lowe - plenty of effort and assist for winner Dykes - usual work rate, but no threat Laird - improvement on Drewe. Kept Zarour much quite Armstrong - pace and strength worried Burnley back line but minimal real threat Amos - worked hard to maintain leas Martin - a goal with 2nd touch. Then helped with clock running |
| Your Report | Norwich City v Queens Park Rangers Your Report added at 21:06:28 Norwich, as expected, the better side but QPR dug in with a repel all boarder attitude. Got the reward for their commitment and could have won. Referee was too card happy to get any more. |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Nottingham Forest Your Report added at 12:30:14 2 evenly matched sides but QPR took their few chances, whilst Grabban missed all of his. As solid a defensive performance from QPR as I've seen in a long time. Not just the back 4 but Dykes and Amos defended from the front. Not a game that will live long in the memory, nor should it. From a Rangers point of view a great start to the season. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 10:36:21 We don't do Fridays; we don't do TV games; we don't do London derbies. It was all too predictable. I thought Fulham looked the better side for long periods - albeit marginally. The first goal was grossly unlucky, especially how well Robinson played the rest of the game. The second was another stupid error by Lynch. Then we woke up and peppered their goal for the last 10-15 minutes. I'm pleased Conor got another goal but it was all too little, too late. I don't think we are that far from being a decent side, especially considering the injuries we've had in central defence. But, we haven't got (and cannot afford) the sort of striker that would push us on to a higher level. The next 2 away games will show whether we will be comfortably mid table or capable of getting dragged into a relegation battle. The top 6 looks a mile away at the moment. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 16:02:12 Lotd of average performances, not enough good ones. First half was a dreadful game of what passes for Premiership football. Second half we stepped up without ever threatening to score. I thought we were slightly the better side but they had the better chances. Their resilience made the game too stop start for us. Pluses. Another good performance by Cesar. Fabio and a half fit Samba did well. Taarabt, like the curate's egg. Good in parts, but some poor errors of judgement. Jenas looked tidy. Zamora as well, although the other attackers were rarely on the same wavelength. Best player was Townsend. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 09:24:32 Too many players turned in inadequate performances. Yet we managed to draw against a side who had 1 attempt on target in 90 minutes and very few attempts from open play. The foundations are there but the intensity has to step up all over the park. 10 games in, no wins. Make no mistake we are already involved in a battle to avoid going down with Reading and Southampton. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 13:22:56 Brilliant atmosphere. Nail biting entertainment. Drama to the last. And we survive on the back of a result elsewhere. Who wrote the script? Congratulations to city. The best side won the league. Many shook our hands on the way out. Not sure if that would have happened if the whistle had gone at 2-2. 1 sour note was Barton. Sure, Tevez started it, but no excuse for the reaction.4 game ban for 2nd red card of the season. Another ban for the assault on Ager and another for nutting Kompany. He could and should miss half the season. Can qpr dismiss him for gross misconduct? |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 20:31:01 I now understand why Clive leaves it 24-48 hours before writing his report. I got back at about 4:30 and I was still wondering how we managed to lose. After the first 10 minutes we were the better side. I thought we controlled the tempo of the game, created chances, hit the bar twice, had a perfectly good goal disallowed. Either bnot good enough or not lucky enough. Today, it was the latter. What we didn't do was defend properly for the full 90 minutes. We switched off twice and conceded twice. We didn't score when we were on top. IMHO, Barton and Diakite dominated the midfield and we should have got more out of it. Before the game I thought the side that lost today would go down and I think we need to start looking at travel guides to Hull and Ipswich. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 19:52:02 No really poor performances. Just far too many average or below average ones. My one positive from yesterday is that I'm certain we'll finish above Blackburn. We can play a lot better, I don't think they can play better than they did yesterday. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:45:45 I thought we dominated from the time we scored our first through to the end. Their only effort on goal was the equaliser. I'm surprised the possession stats only show 55/45 to us and the only disappointment was that, instead of putting the game to bed, we were trying to showboat. At 2-1 that smacks of an unjustified arrogance. Both Derry and Faurlin were superb with the former shading my MOM vote. And with Swansea, Cardiff, Forest and Leeds all slipping, it's difficult to see how we can avoid one of the 2 automatic places (subject to the FA charges, of course). |
