"Not hard is it" very subtle 442, would there have been a "pitch update" posted upon the Forum had supporters not have been critical of the Clubs lack of communications upon the subject, people can make up their own minds, personally, maybe I'm being unfair but I'm not so sure! Historically communications from Club to supporters has been pretty poor to say the least and it doesn't seem to be improving despite longstanding, ongoing requests from supporters for improved lines of communication, Dale Bars do it excellently, it's called basic marketing stratergy however, communications from Club in general to supporters regarding issues such as the match being played or postponed is a different matter, some supporters travel hundreds of miles to attend Dale home games spending small fortunes on fuel, overnight accommodation, food, drink, match fees etc only to be disappointed, ideally they would prefer clear, early and concise communications from the Club something along the lines "the pitch is as muddy as a quagmire and will most likely be called off" (they will never say that I know it's just an example) in good time to enable those travelling supporters to cancel/postpone their plans for obvious reasons, the Club Marketing Team may well interpreted this same/similar scenario much differently, make the postponement announcement as late in the day as possible with the slightest chance the game might be played, in some cases match day tickets may have already been purchased all the better for the Marketeers , it works well with passing trade, but very a short sighted stratergy when we are talking about life long supporters who will always return although possibly less often or be reluctant/ refuse to risk wasting their hard earned cash and valuable time in the future, particularly during the winter months, has the time come that the Club might consider promoting/improving relationships with all supporters, particularly those travelling long distances through honest, stright forward and early lines of communications and a tad more thought and understanding for supporters that is the least that Dale supporters should expect ! |

I'm not stalking you Alien, you are making some good points upon this subject therefore, I shall add to your Trust Rep statement, purely my personal thoughts mind - Should one be invited to the top table from say a mid placed or far away table then one is most likely expected to act and behave the same or similar way as the top table have continued to act and behave ! I was once with you being treated badly and not being told anything , now I'm with them treating you badly.............. As I've stated, just a thought ! |

Good point Alien who is actually taking/making these decisions, again, this reeks of the us v's them attitude from the Club, the players and staff often mention the brilliant Sandy atmosphere and how this helps squad performances, or very similar therefore, tell you what we'll close the Sandy, the atmosphere never actually made any difference, so what if the Sandy regulars don't attend ! what's so difficult in the Club informing supporters the reason/s that the sandy will be closed, most supporters would/will readily accept valid reason/s, as it stands we are already learning that supporters won't be attending the Stockton match who otherwise would have ! |

I agree with much of your post Sandy - I'd like to run with one of your points if I may, "how do we encourage friends and acquaintances to watch in your words "tippy tappy tripe like that" I've done it a few times over the years and more often than not had my fingers burnt, the blow has been softened in my case because I've always paid my friends entrance fee however, it reminds me of what I've told my builder , he's good at what he does, he's very reasonable but he's unreliable therefore, I'm unable to recommend him to family, friends and acquaintances, in response to your question - You Can't ! they'll be spending their precious free time, hard earned money on and I'll quote "tippy tappy tripe " It won't be Big Jim or the Board that they'll be pissed off with, it'll be you ! There must be 100's of loyal Dale Fan's bursting at the gut to encourage friends and family to attend Dale games and be part of promoting support, increasing the fan base, generating more revenue and improving the playing squad, but for many it's simply not worth the risk ! |

I agree Dale 4 life playing out from the back is certainly here to stay, it seems that everyone wants to "play out form the back" even my Son's Dog and Duck FC Manager wants to play out from the back even though one of the full backs can't trap the ball, it would be comical if it wasn't so sad (it certainly isn't sensible) watching the ball bounce off the lads big toe and/or shins into the path of an oncoming opposition forward, reminds me of some of the Dale's similar clangers , it's been said many times if you want to play the Pep way then you need the calibre of the City players ! |
| Forum Reply | Solihull Match Thread at 18:33 16 Sep 2024
I can't see Big Jim's post match interviews being anything other than a pre negotiated script, surely an interviewers priority is to tease poignant answers from sometimes difficult/awkward questions, the calibre of questions you have identified ( not difficult nor awkward) Sutty are exactly the type informative, meaningful questions I should prefer to be presented, instead we have the Jim and Greg show, seemingly going through the motions, soft questions requiring soft answers baring only minimal satisfaction for the interviewer, interviewee and listeners/watchers ! |
| Forum Reply | TONIGHTS GAME V MAIDENHEAD UTD at 18:50 11 Sep 2024
Allarakhia has been my top player up to now however, he wasn't at his best last night, as you rightly say he gave the ball away which led to the Maidenhead goal then then he was remonstrating with Sassi who turned sideways, went down on one knee and tried to block the ball with his outstretched leg/foot, clearly not the best defending from a professional footballer never the less I can't see any reason why Alarakhia had any cause to complain, with regards to milking the crowd, in my opinion he deserves that particularly on his previous performances, the main reason that I've tagged onto your post Alien "I wonder if there's a slight danger that he's getting a bit too big for his boots" exactly my thoughts ! |

Yes, your absolutely correct Big Kindo, it isn't rocket science is it , pervious posters have suggested similar resolutions, I'd like to tag on to your post if I may, anyone with an ounce of business acumen will realise that not identifying the "reserved seats " has/is/will create loss of revenue (many of the additional concerns have previously been well documented) one that hasn't, as far as I'm aware is the aggressive, entitled, half cut season card holder who attempts to access their allocated, unmarked seat/s then comes down heavy handed upon the family (through no fault of their own) of first time Crown Oil attendees, that's they're only experience of supporting RAFC having been spoiled, they may/may not ever return, then there's the group of mates (for example) who previously enjoyed 3 - 4 pre match pints in one of the Dale bars, they've now (case scenario) become sick and tired of attempting the access their allocated seats to find someone (through not fault of their own) sitting in their seats, the group have since decided to just have 1 - 2 pints and take their seats 30 minutes before kick off, I'm confident that the RAFC commercial manager is resolving the issue and applying "season reservation stickers" upon season card holders seats as I type, well maybe not! |

So much to agree with Billy, I've been meaning to afford my opinion for a while and your post has prompted me to concur and add to your comments , criticising players in the form of "taking the piss" moronic terrace chants is futile and counter productive, Kario's effort is unquestionable however, as you rightly state is movement in and around the boxes is sadly well below par, added to that his first touch is more often than not poor and his heading ability leaves a lot to be desired it's sounding negatively critical I know, it's not meant to be, hopefully it's a work in progress ! Building from the back, getting the ball out wide, crosses into the box, as it stands is a forlorn tactic especially if it's Kario who's expected to to add the finishing touch ! It seems that Big Jim has now recognised the weakness and I'm sure that the coaching staff are working Kario hard in training ! |

I agree with most of what you say Sutty, I'd like to add if I may, many supporters match day experience includes a pre match drinks with friends or lunch with family etc generally enjoying the period leading up to the game, it's very difficult to enjoy ones self whilst " I hope that nobody is sitting (through no fault of their own) in my/our seat/s, will the people in my seat take kindly to me requesting that they find an alternative seat/ will this cause friction, I'll have to find a steward, will he/she be supportive" flitting through and flooding ones mind , as you've stated a sticky plastic reserved sign isn't rocket science (my words not yours ) some season card holder sit in the same seat for many years, it's already been stated that the green argument doesn't really wash, this reeks of lazy commercial management , the Club gladly take supporters season card money then it seems it's every man/women for themselves, surely someone at the Club has considered this as a potential flash point and/or inconvenience for the paying customers , maybe not, if one has a seat in the Directors Box then this is someone else's problem so why should Mr Pockney care ! |

Just like his passing EEL's headed attempt at goal was awful, as was Kairo's gilt edged oppertunity, not to mention Burgers inability to knock the ball five yards into the six year box (full of Dale players, instead hitting the side netting ) from the by line with ninety seconds to go, the two up top virtually unemployed and they both got the full ninety minutes !!!!! - thats just four examples why we lost in my opinion - regarding Big Jim's post match interviews - Greg - are you ready to do your post match interview Jim. Jim - oh no - what shall I say . Greg - don't worry Jim I'll ask you a few soft questions, just string it out for about four minutes ....... I'm following many others on to the Band Wagon, massive improvement required ! |
| Forum Reply | TVOS - Rochdale v Dagenham & Redbridge at 11:39 16 Aug 2024
The plan is more like a classic marketing ploy "get em in the shop to buy a programme and they might see, like and buy some merchandise" ! |
| Forum Reply | EEL Stays at 15:18 7 Jun 2024
Exactly - EEL having played 82 league games over two seasons is the key factor here, there's absolutely no point in having a National League standard world beater constantly on the Physio's couch ! |

Spot on - I don't have a crystal ball but I'm in no doubt that Hendo would/should have put away all of Mitchell's gilt edged missed chances ! |

I was surprised that the Ref allowed the Pools Keeper to play in all yellow, surely a direct clash with Dales all yellow 2nd kit! |

I agree and wish to comment upon your point the Chairman "having a swipe at fans for interfering with the sale of their own club" was totally unacceptable, those fans who post on this forum have been absolutely amazing, rooting out the shitehawks, the same shitehawks whom if the Chairman had had his way would now be stripping assets and running the club into the ground ! |
| Forum Reply | Match thread v Solihull at 12:53 19 Feb 2024
Someone "needs to read the riot act" I totally agree with that however, defiantly not the Chairman, his communication skills are that of a snobbish, pompous and out of touch £wa£ which will rub the players and management up the wrong way and only make matters worse - we require someone of the calibre of a Churchillian "fight them on the beaches " you know someone you'd have in your trench sadly, that isn't Mr Gauge! Who then, sadly we don't seem to have anyone ! |

| Forum Reply | Fylde Teamsheet at 13:57 2 Jan 2024
Exactly my thoughts Newbury, if I may , in addition from the glimpses I saw of Conway during his brief loan spell at Dale, he looked to me as the real deal at this level (proven over our two games against Fylde ) Big Jim preferred Ufuye (nowhere near good enough, even at this level) Conway didn't get the required pitch minutes therefore, he was recalled by Bolton, rightly so ! Conway went stright back out on loan to Fylde where he's been putting in man of the match performances since, I'm absolutely baffled ! |
