I suppose the current response would be 'I hope it's not catching!'
But seriously I agree, and have defended him on here. Truth is none of our mid-fielders are playing well, which is a systemic/coaching issue rather than an individual one. And one that needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.
Half the QPR players on the pitch today weren't with us last season. That's not an excuse merely an observation, but no footballer is just 'Plug-in-and-Play.' We've also a manager with less than half a season behind him at this level, and a CEO who's barely old enough to shave. Only us fans are a constant.
These first matches were always going to be a bumpy ride. Unfortunately, though the wheels haven't fallen off yet, they're certainly wobbling a fair bit. Personally I don't think the two early international breaks have helped at all. It's more than halfway through October and we've yet to complete a quarter of our schedule. Footballers need games, not two weeks to think about a three game losing streak.
I've liked him from the off. He's got great vision and bags of skill. He was central to our early flurry tonight that came to nothing. He doesn't impose himself on a game though, so seems to disappear at times. Hopefully as he settles we'll see more of him.
Perhaps understandably given our early dominance with nothing to show. Then giving away a once-in-lifetime worldy followed by a catastrophic second goal. The pen was a gift. someone needs to settle things down, and quickly.
