Favourite cars I've owned have been a 1960 Vauxhall Cresta PA - grey/green with leather bench seats, column change, great shape, great 'puller'. Took it to Shepherds Bush a few times before it died. Had a gold 1976 Capri that was a bit of a sheep in wolf's clothing (1.6GL), but I loved it! Working overseas in 1970s/80s, often in rough remote areas, all I wanted and needed was a good old-fashioned Land Rover with low ratio gears, red 4wd button and crank handle when desperate! - nothing fancy. |

I love cryptic crosswords, The Times often defeats me, but I especially like the Private Eye Crossword. I'm not sure everyone on here understood the one I posted recently, when the answer was Trap-Eze (for high flyers) |

I went to a few friendlies, mainly Testimonials when QPR players, especially Marsh, were playing. I saw Rodney at Fulham, Palace and most memorably at West Ham when Eusebio played and demonstrated a great 'banana kick' ( as we called it then!) |

Indeed, that's how I remember it, thanks for the detail. I think we remarked at the time it was a "Glasgow Kiss". I was surrounded by Glasgow Rangers supporters in South Africa Road terrace, one of whom shouted, to great cheers all round, "there's only one Rangers...and that's Glasgie Rangers!" I somehow recall the Arbroath players looking quite rustic (?) and heavy compared with our team? |

I'm sure that Barry Bridges once sported a Viva Zapata tache, but can't fund a picture just now? |

Me too. Recently got my 1970s Thorens TD 165 out again and it's working beautifully with a stack acquired from various sources (still mostly use SONOS and Spotify though!) |

I think it was much better than the Palace game because I couldnt see it as I arrived too late and they closed the gates for that match. This time I watched from the dubious comfort of my SAR seat - and went bonkers! |

Indeed, as much as Friday is going to be one of the most memorable, that 26 Dec 1968 was probably the worst performance I'd seen at the time. Ron Springett looked, let's say unwell and I remember an orange being thrown at him, also the anguish on Ian Watson's face. I was also at the Friday evening defeat by Lids when the floodlights came on just in time for Mick Jones to barge in the winner - and didn't Bobby Keetch take the worst penalty of all time? But Friday was simply beyond our wildest dreams, pure magic and a super sometimes touching report Clive. Thank you |

I love it - got 4, 2 of which are QPR avids and who have both had the 1st matchday experience at LR. Have had lots of time with all of them from babies through toddlers to young children - 2 of which are now teenagers. Great to get to the stage from their first words to longer sentences, trying to satisfy inquisitive minds through enjoyable discussions. |

Always remember my parents' false teeth in the glasses and Steradent. My dad only had one tooth when he was younger than I am now - it was a bit sad when that single tooth was aching and had to be removed. I'm mid 70s and have a couple of molars missing, but otherwise all in good shape thanks probably to never having been a smoker, Mrs Hants' choice of healthy food and fluoride. I actually don't mind visits to my friendly NHS dentist where she takes good care of me. My previous NHS dentist (in Hampshire) was a QPR fan, not the greatest practicioner, and conversation was a bit limited with him poking around inside my mouth, but my teeth seemed to survive under his care. |

That's a bummer! I was looking forward to going with young grandsons, so now a lonely, late Friday night trip. Also, Mrs Hants has already organised a theatre trip with a friend in my absence! F**k SKY |

| Forum Thread | Lighten up the load No.2 - Yuka app at 20:40 10 Mar 2024
If you or your partner/ mum/ Dad etc. haven't already found this app, I would issue a word of warning. Mrs Hants is now using it to check out all the tasty, unhealthy foods I used to enjoy and only getting those recommended that are free of sugar, calories, salt, fats etc. ...and sometimes, taste? On the other hand, if that's important, and I guess it should be and is for many, it's a simple app that scans barcodes and provides all the information you need to buy healthy products. |
