I never knew that and always assumed it was because it was the only part of the ground not visible from the police control room. Please tell me that box in the corner with the smoked glass windows is the police control room and not something as prosiac as the Matthew Rose Memorial Treatment Room. |

There's a popular misconception that the violence that day was started by the football but look at the geezer on the right. The purple Gazelles are on point but let's have it right, that jumper is a hate crime against fashion. It's so bad the fella in the blue shirt is flinching and the guy in the hoops is trying to shield it from his kids vision.
I know it's the 90s and we all wore stuff we regret but I'd say he was lucky even his own fans didn't fill him in for wearing it.

I always thought Brucey was punching well above his weight but credit to him, he never hid. I met him a couple of years ago and he's a lovely fella - huge Rangers fan, does really good work with his own coaching setup. |

And what happened between Field and Nketiah that got Nketiah booked? I thought if he raises his hands it's a straight red. The ref came over, chatted with the lino and seemed to guess at that one.
If Field has wound Eddie up with a bit of sledging then I'm all for that and they should all have been doing that from the first whistle. I'm a huge fan of Eze but if I'd been trying to mark him I'd have been in his ear telling him he was nothing but a two-bob stroller who makes Grealish look good. |

You keep saying it's OK to tackle them but with that fùcking danger Sunny Delight running around in the middle, I'm not sure that's entirely accurate.
Varane (I think) was penalised at one stage for standing too close to Eze, who had the grace to at least look embarrassed. Kamada waved on with cynical tackles we're getting booked for.
We weren't the only ones showing Palace too much respect last night. |

The last sentence is the key element. Trävëllmän Hämäläinen being on the books for 8 years was 6 years too long. No disrespect to Aaron Drewe, who's apparently a nice lad, but if you're not progressing to the first team after 3 years, are you suddenly going to crack it in the next 3?
We seem to get so gob-bummed by EPPP in cases like Harvey Elliot and Gilchrist that long contracts are more a liability than fiscally prudent insurance. |
