Two weeks before a game against Wawllll/Luton/Leeds, when oppo fans appear on the forum asking how to buy tickets.

Usually something like: 'I'm over from [insert random country] with 6 of my family members. We're big QPR fans and hope to get tickets in the home end. How do we buy them?'

It's like clockwork.

Plymouth see red; QPR suffer déjà vu – Report
at 10:35 26 Aug 2024

Marti's comments about the team playing too emotionally was spot on - it definitely added to the harum scarum of the flurry of second half attacks.

One thing that stood out a little was that when Frey and Celar were up top as a pair, they didn't try and play together or help each other out. There were a couple of moments where an attempt to nod it down to the other or try and find your strike partner could have been a better option, but they were acting as though they were playing alone.

Eze release clause
at 13:26 19 Aug 2024

I'd be surprised if Eze leaves now, especially this late in the window.

I wouldn't say the lack of interest in him is because the price is too high, but perhaps as much to do with the structure of offer.

I think I'm correct in saying that many of these release clauses have to be paid in one go, which is proving more and more difficult in the age of PSR.

By letting it lapse, interested clubs can offer more structured deals that may cost them more in the long run, but can help them stay within the regs.

Transfer rumours 2024
at 10:15 6 Aug 2024

I can't remember if I read it here or heard it elsewhere, but for clubs like us, the aim needs to be raising the floor rather than the ceiling this summer.

Obviously, we'd all like to go out and buy high-quality players and challenge for promotion, but it's more beneficial to raise the overall standard of the squad by closing the gap within our ranks so Marti can rotate without fear of a drop-off.

Given who we've brought in so far, I'd say that we're largely doing that. Then, if there's budget and opportunity towards the end of the window, should we be looking for the 'game-changing' players.

Transfer rumours 2024

I did wonder for a moment whether we were trying to gather some pennies together so that Marti could plunder Hammarby for Jusef Erabi, as he's supposedly quite good and wouldn't cost the earth. Recently(ish) back from injury as well.

Might be. The three shades of blue on the date at the end scares me though.

Zidunne giving us all a Dom Ball moment that we were robbed of during the pandemic. And it was glorious.

Sunderland stalemate keeps Rangers hanging – Report
at 13:40 18 Mar 2024

While I don't mind Dykes and appreciate his effort and running when he does do it, his lack of anticipation will always be a frustrating point.

I've mentioned it before, but I believe his coming to football later in life and lack of a proper 'football education' is something than cannot be legislated for.

No amount of coaching at this stage in his career will alter that, unfortunately.

Field's surprise double caps fitting footballing tribute to Bowles – Report

I fully subscribe to all of the drag-backs and Cruyff turns from Jimidine Zidunne.

He deserves a hell of a lot of credit for knuckling down and taking his opportunity after 18 months of horrific form.

Given the success of safe standing, I wonder (and hope) if there are plans to extend it around the ground.

Not sure if there are FA/League limitations on how much has to be strictly seated, but it would certainly improve the comfort levels and perhaps offers another more marketable selling point, even if it's a novelty factor.

Sounds like the Frey deal was done in part using the Transfer Room platform, which is essentially a meat market for clubs/agents to drum up interest in players.

I've noticed it becoming more and more popular with clubs at our level, here and abroad.

Pritchard leaving Sunderland for Brum is slightly annoying.

Looks like PBBC is making tonnes of friends up there.

Your first proper trainers or boots.
at 10:47 11 Jan 2024

The first pair of boots I remember having were a pair of Gola ones from Woolworths.

One day, my Dad had the bright idea of putting them in the oven to dry quickly, after we'd been down the park, kicking a ball around during a storm. Unfortunately, these line of boots were mostly plastic, and ended up melting, subsequently ruining a baking tray in the process.

A few years later, after he'd moved away, he sent me a pair of R9's (the all-silver retail versions), and they were perhaps the greatest pair of boots I ever had.

A Ben Pearson own goal – Report
at 11:58 30 Nov 2023

Good fun, that.

On the Campbell continuously getting in behind Paal (particularly in the first half), part of the blame has to sit with Chair there. He just doesn't track his man. Ever. He trots along and then stands around. Stoke played that simple give and go about half a dozen times in the first half and there was no tracking.

He's obviously our best and most creative player, but he gets a bit of an easy ride on his infrequent effort when it comes to the unglamourous stuff.

I thought JCS was excellent when he came on. So much calmer and assured than Dunne. I appreciate he was defending against an opponent that wasn't exactly piling forward, but he's so important to how we now play from the back. I hope he starts on Friday.

Match Thread: Queens Park Rangers FC v Bristol City
at 14:23 12 Nov 2023

One of more entertaining 0-0 draws I've seen.

I'm dubious as to whether we'll survive, especially given the lack of goals in the team, but if we're going to be playing like that (or at least trying to) for the rest of the season, then I can accept it.

I thought we played some really nice football at times and I was entertained.

I think Paal was probably our best player, closely followed by Field and Willock.

Was great to see Willock interested and tricky, but he's clearly not the player of 12/18 months ago.

Dykes tried and put himself about but, once more, his anticipation is non-existent. Too often in the wrong place or arriving in the right place at the wrong time.

Similar of Sinclair when he came on, annoyingly.
