Loads of Newcastle fans in the home end. 18:01 - Jan 25 with 1229 viewsSouthamptonfan

Just to top off the day, significant groups of Newcastle fans all made their way over to the away end in the Chapel. Must have been 100 of them at the front in Newcastle shirts and waving their scarves. The stewards and our soft fans in the Chapel did absolutely nothing. Another embarrassment the away end laughing at 100s of their own in the home end. There's no way they would have done that in the Northam. The Chapel is a third full of away fans, most games in the PL.

There were a fair few in the Northam too, but they were thrown out. The Saints fans in there made a huge fuss, but there were a significant number in the Chapel. The fans in the Chapel just stood there smiling. And the stewards too. They are so stupid, it looked like they didn't even notice all the black and white shirts celebrating at the front of the Chapel.

The number of Newcastle shirts I see walking through Southampton, Eastleigh, Winchester just generally now, is pathetic. These idiots use our ground, because we are so close to where they live to watch "their" team from 300 miles away. Look at me, I support a great team and I live in Shirley. It's infuriating.

It all kicked off in the Itchen. Pissed up corporate Geordie road workers antongonising Saints fans. Some of the old Saints boys took exception to these tw@ts taking the piss and retailated.

This happens every year we are in the prem. We had none of this in the championship. The fans of these big clubs are just arrogant horrible tw@ts who rub it in your face, totally taking the p!ss. As if we don't know we're sh!t.

But Saints owners love their money.

Agreed. These cocky pricks didn't expect old boys in their 60s to put them in their place. Ever since they came down the Dell with Andy Cole when when we scored 3 in injury time I have always disliked the Geordie prats. Almost as bad as John Bailey's Evertonians.

What a great night that was, one of my favourite nights at the Dell. We never used to lose against Newcastle back then.

"The Chapel Kop at Southampton is widely regarded as the most passionate and intimidating Kop in European football."
