Should we join the Welsh cup next season on 20:00 - Jan 16 by ReslovenSwan1
They will. Funny that West Ham were mentioned. A 70000 stadium built by the Government for £2m a year for 100 years. It cost close to £1 billion with its own railway station and a new £179m roof. All waved through. The initial plan was a 20,000 stadium for Leyton Orient before Coe got involved.
Cockneys did not go around worrying about what people in Burnley thought about it.

Cockneys and the folk of Burnley are English playing in the English league.
Swansea Wrexham Newport Cardiff
Are Welsh clubs playing in the English league West Ham don't have the concern of getting booted out of the league. Also West Ham have a far bigger squad than us. West Ham only play 38 league ganes we play 46.
If we qualified for Europe we could be playing.
46 league games Potentially over 20 games in Europe it's not like the old Cup winbers Cup. 4 Welsh cup ties. Plus FA Cup and League Cup.
How are we going to complete these fixtures.
The Welsh FA have already said they don't want weakened sides in Europe.

A pre season cup is allowed if it carries no qualification to another tournament that is sanctioned by the authorities. So a pre season Welsh cup that carries European qualification is not allowed, NO.. Not if the FA says no.
I gave you the answers but you don't like being told you are wrong. Debate involves facts and opinions, not imaginings dressed up as facts.
I didn't quote any footballer, what planet are you on?
A serious debate needs raw facts, fiction has it's own department. It's not a trend by the way, it's a fact, you make things up and present them as if they are real, You can call them scenarios but you always invent them in such a way as to back up whichever point you are trying to make.
You don't even understand negotiations, you try to negotiate but if or when you cannot reach agreement then it doesn't happen, whatever it is.
Blackburn relocate, pull the other one. You are definitely different.
The Welsh teams want to give up qualification from the English leagues and qualify from the Welsh cup as they did for a good few decades.
The EFL have a team that want to have a qualification to Europe removed to be replaced a by an English team.
The Welsh cup on no different to the Asian cup except it is recognised now by EUFA. This is EUFA s business not the EFL s business. It is valuable and welcome. TNS is a Welsh club playing in the Cymru league in England. These anomalies exist.

It’s subject to final approval and with the green light it could even get underway next season
The opposition is mounting and publicity is bringing more attention to the subject. The EFL and FA will seriously concider the thoughts of the majority of supporters. Nothing is cut and dry, even Cymru Premier League clubs have not agreed yet.

"It’s good to see that common sense has prevailed and with cooperation, agreement and the backing from EUFA and the EFL it’s allowed us to compete in the Welsh Cup once again."
The EFL have not given approval nor has the FA. Currently we do not have permission to take part in the competition and never will unless it is a sanctioned tournament.
We haven't got a de4cent enough squad to compete in the Championship outside our first a 11 as it is, it's gonna end in tears.

" There is opposition mounting". Do you actually read who you attach to your post.?
The FSA said it should be given serious consideration while the Cymru u league clubs want further detail and time to discus. Money talks.
The FSA presumably represent fans from England and Wales.
FSA chair Tom Greatrex said: “Our view is that there would have been greater value for the clubs and authorities involved in this consideration had there been some level of prior consultation with supporters.
“While there are mixed views amongst supporters on different aspects and potential consequences of this proposal being adopted, there is a broad level of concern for the potential implications for both Welsh and English EFL clubs which might arise.”
Tom urged the FA to give serious consideration to the views of supporters before implementing the proposals and pledged constructive involvement from the FSA in future consultation.

Barry Town United The first club to issue a statement to supporters were Barry Town United, with a social media post reading;
“In September 2024, representatives from the Cymru Premier League clubs convened with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) and, after deliberation, collectively agreed to pursue further exploration of the Project Cymru proposal.
As a club, we left the meeting with the understanding that this is still in the exploratory phase, and that further details would be provided to the clubs before we take a formal position on the initiative.
We wish to reassure our supporters that we have not yet given our unequivocal support to the proposal. We are awaiting more comprehensive information and responses to the questions we have raised, which we will share with our members once clarified.
We recognise that this matter is likely to spark considerable discussion within the club, and we welcome all questions or concerns to be directed to David Cole via email. As more details are made available, we will organise a members’ meeting to engage in a full and open debate on the proposal.”

Caernarfon Town Following their own European journey last summer, Caernarfon also issued a statement on social media asking for further details on the project.
The Cofis would not have enjoyed their European adventure if the proposed plans were in place for last campaigns competition, leaving fans with the worry of missing out in future to the EFL clubs.
“Following the recent press release by the FAW regarding Project Cymru we wish to make it clear that, whilst the club is open to receiving more information regarding the initiative, as far as we are concerned, no official vote involving the clubs has been taken about it nor the proposed new Welsh League Cup.
We will not be making any further comments about Project Cymru nor the League Cup until we receive definite details from the FAW of what it will all look like,” said the clubs social media post.

Yes, it is after all the Welsh League Cup, a league we have no reason to represent or be in.
With all the reasons given (which I agree with)for not being in the cup the overriding one for me is that we are in the EFL where rules and regulations apply equally to all. We should not have a back door method of getting into Europe that is not available to other EFL teams just because of our location.

It's a crazy idea and risky for our EFL status.
Everyone saying it could risk our EFL status, but how?
If the EFL don’t like it, they won’t let us do it. If they agree to let us do it, why would they object at a later date and chuck us out?

There has always been a resentment of many supporters of English based clubs regarding Welsh teams playing in English leagues. This project has escalated the opinion and FSA recognise this and have asked the FA and EFL to concider the supporters opinion before reaching a decision. If the FA and EFL don't do this the ill feeling will only escalate and come to a head later on. If the FA and EFL listen to the opinion of the majority of supporters they will turn down the request. It's then up to the four clubs if they want to withdraw from the English pyramid, which would never happen, but there would still be much ill feeling.

Some would rather argue for arguments sake, basically just a wind up. The facts are there, they may change who knows, but as it stands those are the facts.

You and quite a few on here have an English perspective. The FSA want more information. Football fans make bad decisions all the time especially Swansea fans. Club need to make more money. If Swansea stay wher they are playinging dull possession football in mid table fab prices will have to go up considerably.
Coleman has found a way to grow with our increasing prices and provided a better diet for the fans to watch.
The view of fans from Blackburn will be taken into consideration but the matter is between EUFA and the FAW. Liverpool play in the Asian cup to make money. Swansea play in the Welsh cup to make money. Eufa will give a place to the winner. This is a lucky break for Swansea. Why does it affect Blackburn?
Most fans on here believe it will make Swansea weaker not stronger. They want the US people to continue to pump in money while the fans group does jack all and the fans object to paying more for season tickets.
Welcome to Wales pull up a deck chair and have a beer..

Yet another dig at Swansea fans. English perpsective....utter rubbish, that people see and understand the possible problems while you fail to even comprehend the difference between the Asian cup and the Welsh cup, it says a lot.
The matter involves the EFL because that is where we play our football. It;s just another comprehension failure.
Who has objected to paying more for Season tickets? You made that up. It doesn't make us weaker but it does increase the workload and means we would need a substantially stronger squad for next season, that costs money and as we are apparently not spending much this window because of P&S concerns, how do we manage that?

This is about Swansea City and the dangers that this proposal may bring. Leave the international stuff out.
Blackburn (presumably the catch all club for all EFL teams in your mind) will be affected if they are not afforded a similar opportunity. As I’ve said before, make the cup available for all EFL clubs just so there’s a level playing field. It’s the system we play in and could easily and possibly justifiably be asked to leave in the future.
Liverpool to the best of my knowledge play in the PL so it doesn’t affect them.
I can see your thinking is built upon a foundation of doing what we want in Wales and stand up to them, never surrender attitude. I don’t even think you’d care if we were expelled and were to a Welsh league with Welsh only players who only speak Welsh and have the same inherent hate of the English / Anglos / Anglo Saxon (or whatever you class us as) as you do. Shameful!
