How is he as a coach ? I know he is a model of a professional and has a very good rapport with the Development Squad players. I wonder if he could be an uncut managerial diamond for us.

Very well respected. Good guy. Strong on development. Very little experience. No way is he ready for a first team coach/manager role yet.

You say yet but he is 56 and Chris Wilder would be the only manager in this season's Championship older than him!

I do think the hierarchy of fall guys at the club to fall will be Belk next to go and then MC in a few months time if things don't work out. Then who knows, it'll be someone new we haven't heard of in charge again.

Paul Furlong is not the man for the job! If he had wanted to be a manager, he'd have stepped up years ago to the task but he either prefers coaching and/or isn't dumb enough to want such a role.
