It was good fit for him as he already knew the and respected the core of the squad and SCFC play his type of football.
He seems to have had some sort of philosophical differences with Russ perhaps over the overplaying the ball with no purpose.The signing of wingers suggests this.. He wanted more power and pace which Martin talked about but did not deliver with signings like Sorinola. |  |

We have become conditioned to accepting lower quality

History does not show us in a very good light vs Borough add to that we only play really well on tv when we play them up the road, but history starts today for me, whilst agree with others we are still 4 players min short of what is required, the lads who pull on the Swansea shirt today will give their all i am sure win lose or draw this is a new season and who knows what it brings

Would you think that the expected starting eleven is one of the better team shapes we've had for a while.
It has more pace out wide than we have had for quite some time, the defence is a settled back four and the midfield is the right combination of players with Franco adding a bit of grit and quality in the middle.
We can question Cullen's role but overall against Rio it was an assured team preformance with the exception of the 10 minutes of nonesense.
The subs had an impact Cooper, Josh Thomas even Naughton remembering Key was injured last season, RP isn't with us yet, all did well to kill.the game off which we haven't managed to do consistently. Ronald return will be welcome if he does get given game time and our new forward Vipotnik may also get game time.
Squad a bit thin on the ground but after a good preformance against Rio, even though we don't know how their quality matches up to Championship level, now hoping for a good solid start to the season.🤞🏻 | | | |

Morning Pete, hard away game I know but I think we have enough to hurt teams that come onto us, with our pace but will need to win battles all over the pitch, we had a number of good away game results last season built on a strong defence. | | | |

Managers with bigger budgets at their disposal are obviously at an advantage but the antithesis of that was us in 2007-2008. Well let’s face it for most of our recent history until we lost our way by going for the free transfers with sky high wages.
When we first went up to the Championship then the Premier League we were written off but we proved the doubters wrong.
I am extremely happy to see we are now scouring Europe for cheap gems again and finding them too. | | | |
