To further emphasise the point, our apparent "interest" in Shankland pre-dates Scott's involvement with the club by a good six months, but if people want to ignore something that took about 20 seconds of Google Fu to find out and carry on whining about Andy Scott there's not much that can be done.

Frankly I find it absolutely barmy that someone who was not only neck deep in setting up a recruitment system that has paid huge dividends for Brentford, but also had to work alongside a manager shall we say, "less than keen" to consider alternatives to players he'd worked with before is such a target for some people.
