Labour policies are more for the working class but is Corbyn capable of running the country.

You had me up until you showed a lack of understanding of deficit and debt. It is easy to do. Even the shadow business secretary doesn't.

Whatever your political opinions the facts show that the deficit has fallen since its recent peak under Brown. The debt has continued to rise and will do so unless the government runs a budget surplus, which very rarely happens. I think the last balanced budget was under Major. Financially Blair inherited an economy in good shape and stuck to the spending plans of the previous government for at least a couple of years.

I bow to your economic knowledge, is it just me that feels happier and more content when the tories are in opposition 😂. Yes Blair did stick to the Tory plan, what a wasted opportunity for radical change during his tenure, he was a proper Tory, I always hoped the party had used him to get in, and then a proper socialist took over. I like corbyn because he is principled and doesn't waive in the breeze when the going gets tough, and the stick he has had has been disgraceful. May is weak and flaky. Wrong and unable, she even manages to make £900 trousers look shit😂😂😂

Ah. A proper socialist. See how that has worked out for Venezuela.

Blair only stuck to the previous government's spending plans for two years then spending did increase markedly overtime. All the figures for expenditure, debt, defects etc are readily available online via the ons website and other sources.

You will also be able to see that as a country we will be soon spending more money on servicing debt than educating our children.

For every person mentioned below, I could counter with a horrible Tory, Jeremy hunt? Just a picture of him turns my stomach, amber rudd! Personality of a brick, Boris Johnson! Buffoon. Thing is if you ignore the 'personalities ' and concentrate on the issues, the Tory mantra about austerity, giving away public services to friends and not having a joined up NHS and social care system makes no sense. There is no long term plan, we need to be encouraging people to train as doctors, nurses etc, not putting them off. And yes more money does need to be spent. As for trains, have you travelled northern rail recently? The rolling stock is a disgrace, the fares are going up and the service is piss poor. As for the 1970's , a return to the times workers had a little power can't come quick enough. Our economy needs higher wages, it would boost the economy, kick start some growth. After the tories have finished cutting everything, lining their own pockets, it will be left to labour to put it all right, and cut the deficit, which Gordon brown did, unlike the last 7 years when it has risen

I couldn't agree more. Most previous Tory Governments had one or two decent human beings in amongst the usual gang of greedy shysters. This lot haven't got one person I'd be prepared to have a pint with. May, what a bloody dull woman. Even her friends admit she's a completely colourless person. Apart from walking holidays and shoes she's got nothing to talk about apparently. Johnson, a complete knobhead with a very, very unsavoury past. Gove, what an obnoxious little back stabbing pipsqueak he is. Fallon, made to look a complete fool the other day by an interviewer. Hunt, the interviewer that miss pronounced his name actually got it dead right.

What a shower of shite.

She's a tailors nightmare. I saw a photograph of her in a trouser suit the other day, what a bloody mess.

She reminds me of a managing director I used to work for. He was tall but stooped, narrow across the shoulders with a big gut and no backside. He had all his suits hand made by the top tailors but he still looked like a bag of shit tied around the middle.

Yes I am a socialist, well spotted. All this big money isn't real you know, the austerity measures are just an attack on the many, to benefit the few. These buggers won't be affected by poor services, paying for elderly care etc they are a group of wealthy people, backed by even wealthier ones, cutting their taxes in order to make their wealth greater, whilst telling us through the media, to vote against our own self interest. They are very good at it, I'll give them that

I have not made any comments about you being a socialist, although that was pretty obvious by your posts. Someone's political beliefs are up to them and it is good that people have strong beliefs. Even if other's disagree with them. Too many people have political apathy, which is a real shame.

You said you hoped Labour would have used Blair to get a proper socialist into power. I pointed out that a proper socialist has recently taken power in Venezuela. I would be interested in your analysis as to how well that has gone for the people of Venezuela.

Why the attack on so called lefty Trots? If those of us on the left of centre called you right wingers Fascists, we would in the main be wrong . Love it when people who lose, or haven't really got a political argument from any side really, resort to personal insults. To be quite frank here, I am not arsed as to whether or not you think we should all fook off, as your personal view in such a negative way is not important to me.

If you really think the Tories have done a good job, fair enough, but the facts about the growing national debt despite austerity, relative stagnation in house building , failings in NHS, cuts in police numbers, failure to cut immigration, despite constant promises that they will (let's be honest though, most Tory politicians don't live where the majority of immigrants cause the pressures on public services), falling levels of standard of living for majority of workers etc, etc.
As for railways, far more public money goes into the private companies than used to go into the old BR, which was starved of investment.

Now please go on about past Labour failures , but this is now a different LP, who were not responsible for any mistakes that those governments might have made. All of the good things previous governments have done Corbyn and co want to improve on, mistakes they want to avoid.

Have they let you back in the Labour Party or are you still a Green?

Michael Foot was like a lot of blokes over fifty, he didn't bother much about what he wore. I think I read somewhere his wife bought his clothes, same with some men on here I'll bet.

Saint Teresa on the other hand is obviously a very vain person who does care a lot about her appearance given the amount of money she spends on clothes.

It's a real shame she looks like she was put together from a load of odd bits and pieces that were left over.

But would you agree, or not, that the solution to the obvious problems it faces isn't just to thrown money at the NHS like Labour has done, because much of it is simply wasted?

As a country, we have to decide whether we want to fund the bottomless pit of those whose lifestyles lead to the inevitability of disease, plus those who turn up at A&E with minor problems. There are plenty of opportunities for money to be spent on new and expensive treatments for conditions arising simply from old age, or at the other end of the scale, keeping prem babies alive, without the pressures resulting from lack of self-care

I've worked on the front line too, and it's always been "it's never been this bad" but the answers have to be smarter than just elect a government that throws our money at it and, for instance, give GPs ridiculously generous contracts whilst cutting their hours and the requirement to provide out-of-hours cover, hence the additional pressures on A&E now! That was, of course, a Labour government

Might as well throw my tuppence worth in to this debate.

I've worked front line in the NHS for 34 years, and still do work full time.

From what I observe, the financial mess that we're in has been caused by both parties. For example, although PFI was introduced by the Tories, it was vastly expanded under Labour (even though they initially opposed it). Elsewhere, as a country, we've spend far beyond our means.

The painful truth is we now have an NHS which we wish for but cannot afford.

Which party is best equipped to tackle the financial problems- I have my own views on that of course like everyone else.

But, when it comes to the financial mess of the NHS, there is another perspective that as far as I can see, is rarely mentioned. Consider this the following statistics:
1. Annual Litigation bill to Secondary Care: appox 1.5 BILLION per year. 2. Current annual NHS deficit apporx 0.75 BILLION.
Conclusion: we're suing the NHS into bankruptcy. Is it really that bad a service that we are going to sue it in to non existence?

Corbyn has gone up in my estimation during this campaign. His manifesto was a genuine alternative and it showed appeal beyond his core vote. I know his followers will point to him getting a raw deal off the press, but its been the same with every Labour leader so I don't know why anyone expected anything different. I don't think it will be enough to win the election but it won't be the hammering that was expected, and there's a small chance that he may be able to lead a coalition despite what might be said. It will probably be enough for him to retain his leadership after the election, though it must be pointed out that he'll have lost to the most dreary and dismal challenge known to man.

Corbyn as gone up in my estimation...
He as shown he as a backbone and wont let his beliefs cloud what is needed to get this country moving.....
Corbyn as shown more than that last usless ex labour leader who was as much use as a bag of dried cement....
At least labours policies are costed unlike the tories....

May is becoming a one trick pony who sole interest is brexit and nothing but brexit....

Costed but several fiscal bodies have said that their proposals wouldn't raise half of the money they are saying it would.

Anyone can pluck numbers from thin air. Apart from Diane Abbott it seems.

They haven't said how much it'd cost to nationalise the utility industries yet. So it's not been fully costed at all.

Mays body language ,facial expressions etc when being questioned are awful..compare her to the crazy Scot Sturgeon..and the Scot appears far more focused.

Mays comment about Corbyn being "naked"at the Brexit talks was ill thought out..if a male had said that about a woman the feminists would be up in arms.

May looks on the verge of melt down at times..fumbling and bumbling along..whatever people thought of Maggie she never looked under pressure in these situations.
The Tories will win no doubt but for me she's the least convincing Prime Minister in my lifetime

Regarding Amber Dudd " Private Eye " had a very interesting series of articles regarding her family business dealings prior to becoming a Minister. All I'm going to say is she'll never be a business minister.
