Redknapp quotes on Faurlin. 16:03 - Mar 20 with 7575 viewssimmo

I am warning you 'Arry you wheeler dealer cnt. You can mess with my club, sign has-beens, field shite players and poor benches to prove your own points. You can be a parody of a man, attract neutral fans to dislike us and spend your time being the self serving blameless old bstard you've become.

But don't you dare fck with the darling of Loftus Road - Ale Faurlin. I hope the board give him a new contract and he comes back, preferably into a team you no longer manage, and shows everybody what somebody that 'gets' QPR is all about.

Prick.

Redknapp quotes on Faurlin. on 16:45 - Mar 20 by traininvain

It's not unusual for a manager to bollock a player during a game or arguments to take place in the changing room. It is however very unusual for a manager to publicly say that a player may not come back from an injury whilst citing an example of a player who has recently failed to make a comeback from said injury.

spot on

its two different things , Warnock & Faurlin both wanted to win & both wanted to give their all for club, passions run high it happens all over football
HR on the other hand doesn't really rate Faurlin and couldn't give a rats a rse how the players recovery pans out, im only surprised he didn't comment on how his beloved spurs will do in the Europa league tonight

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Joey Barton - this is just some muppet, trying to cause a problem by twisting the managers words. Everyone here believes in you mate.

I think I'd rather pay an injured faurlin a decent weekly wage just to be around the place and have a chance of playing again for us than pay the likes of Benayoun and Maiga a penny. We desperately need to keep players around who have some history with the club and give a sh*t.

didn't Warnock bollock Faurlin on the pitch once and they almost came to blows in the changing room. Far worse than this imo.

Well in that case Warnock quite publicly slaughtered Faurlin and lost the dressing room as a result.

In this case Redknapp has said he thinks Faurlin will come back, he's a good player but you never know with these type of injuries.

If he's come out and said Faurlin is finished I could understand the outrage but this seems to be pitch forks for the sake of it again

you're using as much conjecture as the article you're slating.
Warnock loves Ale and Ale said very publicly on the podcast the other day that Warnock was the biggest and best influence on his entire career. The idea that one moment of anger cost him the dressing room, when it didn't even cost him the respect and love of Faurlin, then things were very wrong a long time before that.

Yes, this article has been clearly spun to get a reaction, but we really could've done without that negativity, especially considering the way Redknapp has treated Ale throughout his time at the club, which has been pretty dreadful.

Bare bones.

After that West brom game we fell apart, players stopped playing for Warnock and results went down the toilet, of course it's conjecture on my part and am sure Warnock and Faurlin kissed and made up years ago but the other players were not happy about how he was treated that day and played a big part on his downfall.

Lets be honest though the only negativity over this has come from the supporters and faurlin's Mum. It's pretty much a nothing story blown into something big.

Also how has Redknapp treated him dreadfully? He's been pretty fair with him in that he didn't rate him so let him go out on loan rather than rot in the reserves and when he impressed in training he gave him a chance back in the team.

Easy to say when it's not your money. Maybe an extension until he prooves himself.

Not sure Harry should have said it but it is unfortunately the truth. Lets hope he comes back from it.

Then when he does it will take a while for him to find form. Last time it took virtually until he did the other knee before he looked like the player he once was.

After that draw, we lost to Liverpool, Man Utd, and Sunderland (last minute winner), then drew with Swansea and lost to Arsenal away.
Not sure how we 'fell apart'. And if Joey hadn't got himself sent off v Norwich, we'd have probably won that and maybe got our sh!t back together. I think when you say 'dressing room' you mean 'Joey Barton'.

Redknapp played Faurlin, made a comment about how certain players weren't as good as he was being told, dropped him, left him out, shipped him to Italy. Then when he came back McClaren got him back in the side during the summer, but Redknapp continued to fail to give him a run, preferring players like Henry who aren't fit to lace Faurlin's boots. And now this. But Redknapp's been desperate not to use most of the Championship winning side generally for some reason.

Still, he'll be gone soon and you and me can get back to agreeing on stuff again ;)

Bare bones.

You've got to be careful, Dave; you will become a parody of yourself if you're not.

Every single thread about Redknapp and you take one of the following approaches (if not two!):

1) He was only instructed to do a job which it's too early to tell if he'll succeed
- this is only true if you are privy to his and TF's comms and instructions. You aren't. You're speculating like everyone else what he has been "instructed" to do. It may have been more than simply get promoted. We know we were meant to be signing "young, hungry" players as TF went public with that in the summer!

2) He's been taken out of context
- you've used this defence countless times. And yet, we're talking about a VERY media savy manager renowned in the game for how he manipulates the press for his (personal) advantage. I accept he may have been misquoted now and again, or given comments that can be spun two ways on occassions, but as often as has happened (Bridge, signings we've made, signings we haven't, Adel, Faurlin....)?? C'mon, it's happening a lot and he's bloody experienced at this.

3) When he doesn't front up the press after a poor performance saying we can't moan about not talking to the press if we moan when he does (see above)
- err, ever heard of "mutual exclusivity". They are totally unrelated points. One is around being accountable and taking responsibility when we fail. The other is about not saying things negative and/or manipulative things to the press about our own players, chairman, the way we're run, the way it's not his fault, how he can't sign certain players, etc, etc. That has nothing to do with failing to come out and face the media after a poor showing. He could perfectly well do one without the other. At the minute he's doing the wrong one without the right one!

Depending on the thread the same stance gets taken by you. It's like you are trying to defend him whatever the situation for some reason.

I get it, we ALL get it, that you feel he is overly criticised and there's too much moaning at him. That's fine. That's reasonable. You may see some of his failings as less important than other people do, you may even not agree with some people that certain failings actually exist. Again, fine. No problem with that. But you need to row back from this constant, obtuse defence (in line with one of those 3 outlined above) as it just begins to make you look, well, a little obtuse and a bit silly.

In this instance, I doubt he meant harm and if there were two different reports and one twisted the story, I can see why Ale et al waded in.

NEVERTHELESS, the bloke is the manager, he is VERY experienced at this, and he should never had made comments which IN ANY WAY doubted Faurlin's ability to recover, which he clearly did by talking about a player who hasn't. We all know, especially Ale himself, that some players don't ever recover, BUT WHAT THE F*CK DOES THE MANAGER GAIN BY EVEN REMOTELY SUGGESTING IT'S A POSSIBILITY TO THE MEDIA??

At best, he was stupid. At worst he is a despicable person.

It felt different after that game, the effort went and the performances were dire, I don't think he deserved to get sacked but it all went back to that Faurlin incident where he lost the respect of the senior players.

blimey at worst he is a despicable person, talk about an over reaction. All for suggesting a player may struggle to come back from two ACL injuries but he did think he would manage it. Hull fans were right we're a bunch of drama queens at times.

Redknapp may well be media savvy but he's also the kind of bloke who will usually answer any question given to him and we're not always going to like the answers. If he made the same quotes about Bobby Zamora people wouldn't say a word on it.

Apologies for becoming a parody of myself but my views on the man haven't really changed.

Maybe I'm speculating on what Fernandes has asked him to do but it's a pretty educated guess. When Warnock was manager Fernandes got him to sign high profile players, when Hughes was manager he got him to sign high profile players so it's not exactly a stretch to think he's asking the same of Redknapp who has signed, wait for it, high profile players. Those shirts don't sell themselves in asia.

All this talk about young players and academies is just playing to the crowd, none of it is a reality. If Fernandes wanted Redknapp or any of the previous managers to do that it would have been done and that will become even more apparent when the next manager comes in.

We're in a never ending circle at QPR going from manager to manager wanting something different within six months, when we had a young manager we wanted more experience, when we have an experienced one we want a younger one, when we had a foreign one we wanted an English one, when we have a coach we want a manager and on and on it goes. Occasionally we'll stumble on the right manager and get a decent side but we'll soon be back on the merry go round again not knowing what we want or how to get it.

Things haven't worked out this season so instead of the experienced manager we now want a young one again. If Eddie Howe or someone like that came in I give it 6 months before we are back wanting an experienced bloke again or whatever is fashionable.

For me Redknapp can't win with some people. He talks to the press then he is all about being in the media spotlight and should shut up, he doesn't speak and he is not interested and aloof. He puts kids on the bench like he did against Leeds and no one says a word, he doesn't and he's a moron. He plays kids in the team one week and we slaughter them because they are not the kids we want in the team. We're barking mad.

This isn't all to say I think Redknapp is perfect, he's nowhere near and I don't think he's the right man for the job that needs doing here but the stick he's got today over these comments is utterly ridiculous.

Why would you give a new contract to a player who is injured?
Surely you wait until he is at least back in training
