Dale go for Coleman

"Sky Sports Understands" for the fourth time.

Having all but said that Dave Flitcroft and Paul Ince were on the verge of taking over as the new manager of Rochdale, after previously claiming that Beech had the job until the end of the season, this time it is Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman who is the latest to be linked with the job.

Coleman's odds tumbled since the weekend when he started Sunday morning as a 12-1 shot to become the new Dale boss, before becoming odds on in the past 24 hours.

Speculation about Coleman coming to Spotland started when he was spotted at Prenton Park on Tuesday evening for Dale's goalless draw with the perennial Friday night favourites, and it would appear that he would be a popular choice amongst the Dale support after performing wonders at Accrington.

The popular Liverpudlian is the third longest serving manager in the country, only behind Fergie and Wenger, and according to the League Managers' Association, he is the most successful manager in the country.

Of course, this is a "SSU" which far from makes this a done deal, and Coleman was linked with the job in the Summer before Steve Eyre was appointed.
