He had a loan spell there in 2020/21.

Just looked at the NLS table and Enfield are 4th from bottom having lost 7 out of 9. That looks like a tough assignment for our lad.

A fair point but the question still stands: Why has WLS stopped reporting on QPR? After all, they still report on Wealdstone, for example. Their income from advertising relies on clicks so why reduce the traffic to their website?

What's more, there is a reasonable suspicion that Nourry's communication policy may be a major factor.

You must be right, Danny. Why else would Nourry have renewed Kelman's contract in the summer?

Back in the 90s my lads and I spent many an hour on Ceefax 'watching' England play test cricket in far flung places. It was quite fun actually.

Frey and Nardi drag QPR through clunky Millwall show - Report
at 11:27 23 Sep 2024

I know it can be a bit of a cop out phrase but shouldn't this season be seen as a transition season? First full season for Marti with a pre season under his belt and plenty of overseas newcomers to integrate, he's got his hands full working this squad into a fully functioning unit.

I'm as frustrated as the next person, but if we end the season where we are now, around midtable, it'll be what many of us predicted.

Next season, having pocketed a load of Eze sell on cash [fingers crossed emoji], could well be one where we start to motor on.

The obvious question to ponder must be: Is this a result of Nourry's public communication policy? But, of course, will we get a definitive answer to that question?

Can I put forward the Bromley arsehole for their next manager, or have we overdone that?

That's a little bonus for us. Beck's been playing well I believe.

The ref seemed to miss the neck munch.

Can this team play Marti ball?
at 12:47 22 Sep 2024

Just saw the extended highlights and you were right. Cook played the ball out of our box to Andersen who then played quickly to Dembele.

The midfield hole
at 09:53 22 Sep 2024

There are some interesting analyses in this thread which make sense. On a very simple level, I can't help but think that simply moving the ball through the thirds more quickly would be a major solution to our issues.

There will of course be reasons why that's not happening, and Marti is aware of this issue having described our play as 'slow' several times now. But it is surely achievable with the players we have.

Back three, change of shape

Paal is moving inside during passages of play quite often these days. He starts as a LB but when he does this it effectively creates a back 3.

Can this team play Marti ball?
at 20:07 21 Sep 2024

As I understand it, Marti wants us to be a positional play side where players stick to a pre-determined formation and patterns of play. It's basically what Guardiola does. My question is: can this team do it?

Today, as with other games, we were slow to build from the back with players often static and seemed almost to wait for something to happen. I wonder if they're so focused on where they are meant to be, particularly playing out from the back, that this slows down our movement and passing. It was noticeable our goal came from a more intuitive move with Cook passing forward, Dembele carrying the ball forward and Frey applying the finish, and all done at speed.

I know this is not 'de rigeuer' but I am wondering if Marti has got this approach wrong.

Marti on the Millwall game

Yeah, fair enough. The thing with the wee man is that with his pace he gets into positions to make his final ball really count That's what's so frustrating.
