This could be my first and last.
Firstly, last season's lasting legacy will hopefully last long into Marti's first full season.
At long last, and for the first time in ages, there's more positivity sprinkled around, and as such, the first game of this season certainly feels a lot less doom-laden than the last first game of last season.
Lastly, I think Varane will get his first taste of the Championship in his first start, nabbing his first goal, and his first MOM award, in this his first game in England.

I just spent an hour watching disturbing video clips fron England and I would be stunned if games are not effected this weekend .Hoping this is not the case but it looks too aggressive and dangerous right now so take care everybody going out to LF saturday.
Having said all that I think we will actually win this one and start the new season off with a bank.

Yeah, living on Vancouver Island I have the same issue as you. I will be getting up at 4:30am, however, since it is the first of the season and I am bang up for it. Also, with the Sky TV rights, I think it is something that we have to get used to on a semi-regular basis.

I think the response in Walthamstow yesterday showed that in London at least the far right are not going to make a major impact. They won't go anywhere near Shepherds Bush, so I wouldn't worry about your safety going to HQ. | | | |

Bit annoying that we don't seem to be starting the season with a stronger looking 11 but its been like that for ages. Even in 2011/12 I seem to remember we added Tommy Smith, Fitz Hall, Routledge and a few loanees after we started so hopefully this season goes the same way.

This for the two obvious situations of having a srong defence with a much improved keeper (let's not go there) but just can't see the goals coming with a new striker and with no Chair.
I'd take a 0-0 and agree with the poster that we'll steadily improve as the team improves with a couple more signings hopefully and they then all understand and buy in to Martiball. |  |
