A bit of relief from the Pound thread.....Ed Sheeran faces another trial in the States for plagiarising other people's songs. I thought he was quite open in the previous case when he said, 'well, it's just 12 notes and a few chords bruv' Never seemed to bother Mozart or Mahler - they seemed to cope alright. |

People are saying we are becoming a banana republic but that's really unfair. On the other banana republics. |

Well, the money markets didn't like the mini budget. I met Liz Truss in a hotel in Monmouth a few years ago. She said her solution to pensioner poverty would be to feed them on Pedigree Chum. Not only would this save a lot of money, it would give them shiny coats and a nice cold nose. |

Yes the players did seem at odds with one another yesterday. Normally they exchange nods and thumbs up all game. Could it be the inclusion of Hendricks? The lads are usually full of esprit de corps. |

Harrowing stories in the media .about pubs on the brink of insolvency due to reduced footfall because of the latest variant. Personally I don't like beer but force it down to keep my mates at Fuller's going. Seriously though, how are things in your local? |

Only for members of the Fullers Fine Ale club, but Fullers have a few of these things like reduced prices on your birthday. Today its just for 3 pints but also there's the loyalty card - free pint after buying 8 (not in the same session). |

Nice to have another pub thread. I too was in Putney - I wanted a few pintz of Wadworths at the Kings Arms, the only Wadworth pub in London and it was shut.. Thankfully it's open in the evenings. Of the many pub closures which are posters especially unhappy about ? For me its the Mawson next to Fullers brewery. What a lovely pub, I've never forgiven Fullers although I'm currently drinking Pride at £1.76 a pint as irs Fullers 176th birthday. |

No demolition as yet Clive. Apparently it will be housing plus a small park. I know Brentford are not the flavour of the month on the board but it was always a great place for pubs, many gone now. It had one of the largest amount of pubs per capita in the country and was known as the Town Of Taverns. There was even a pub that opened at 5 in the morning that opened forthe dock trade. |

Good news. Too many pubs have closed. I was in Brentford a few days ago and thought I'd look up a mate in the Beehive. Closed, someone said it's been gone a few months. Same with the Princess Louise one of the famous "pub on each corner of the ground" |

If you're driving home from the pub tonight keep a sharp lookout for the police. They tend to drive like nutters at that time of the night.. |

I've seen it, very interesting although its about Bees it shows all fans face the same issues. The rivalry section of course featured QPR and I loved the bit when the Brentford fan sang " bus stop in hounslow" Lots of bits showing local Brentford pubs.as well. Push up Brentford refers to a saying an old timer on the terraces had. ok', its about Brentford but v interesting. |

I like most of Krall's many albums which benefit from very warm productions. The same with Clare Martin, which is no surprise as she is on Linn records who also produce extremely high end audio. It even says on the cover " best played on Linn equipment.". Fine if you've won the lottery. I particularly like the album Clare made with Ray Gelato. |
