Nope, been shut for years, they still haven't finished the flats there though.

The Black Horse in Greenford has been shut for 18 months now, it still hurts when I pass by.
If my crypto investments come in I will become the new owner, and will bar anyone who's jib I do not care for. Just like it used to be.
It will also be renamed as 'Brian Williams beard'.

D-Day
at 02:40 6 Jun 2024

Although D-Day is rightly remembered, it always seems to over shadow other massively important campaigns with enormous loss of life, notably from our side, the Monte Cassino/Gustav Line stalemate and the lack of recognition of incomprehensible Soviet suffering, which from turning the tide at Stalingrad, then repelling the Nazi counter attack at Kursk meant that by June '44 the Red Army, facing 75% of German forces, were entering Poland and would have continued possibly all the way to the Channel, had Stalin, in a moment of rare humanity for his own people, not insisted on the opening of a new front.
In saying this, it was an amazing achievement, our subterfuge worked, as once the Germans had regrouped, the inland Normandy action was far more brutal, if Rommel's extra Panzer divisions had been deployed earlier, our troops would have struggled to get off the beaches.
Brave? They all were, both sides. {Except the Vichy French

General Election Thread
at 03:44 31 May 2024

Having just spent a while reading all the posts on this thread, many eloquent, salient comments and surprisingly non-aggressive statements on a subject matter that is, whether one likes it or not, is incredibly important to our everyday lives unless you're domiciled on a tax haven in St Kitts, I'm now telling it as it is.
If you believe that the Tories have delivered anything, even remotely fair to the majority of people in this country then you're wrong.
Can you honestly, in your heart of hearts, put an X in the box of your local Conservative candidate and believe that it's in your best interest?
Johnson, Truss, Sunak, really? Touch your forelock peasants and be happy with the defunding of all the privileges that make our lives even remotely bearable.
Starmer's Labour will win of course, barring a major national aneurism, more acceptable, not by much, soon to discover that victory comes with the realisation that not much can be changed for the better without gigantic borrowing from the American Empire, funded by the Chinese, built on sand.
Now for the part where I make more enemies, as if I care, because I have no more alcohol to hand without going down to the all night garage.
No Church, no Conservatives and no Fulham Broadway. Ever. The latter is actually far more important.
Someone kick Michael Gove, Toby Young and Nadine Dorries in the kunt as well.....

That's an amazing comeback by Bochum, Union Berlin sent them into the play offs by scoring in injury time and it wasn't until I read this that I realised that Dusseldorf had naused it up!
Half of the stadia being used next month are homes to Bundesliga 2 sides, and this is without Hannover, Kaiserslautern and Nuremburg all used in WC 2006.
Hamburg, Schalke etc are huge clubs but effing awful lately, it's good for football, especially as Bayern won bug ger all this season.

Player of the season nominees
at 02:07 15 May 2024

Now we're all relaxed about not having to visit Shrewsbury et al next season, and having watched Phil Foden wearing a Superman cape at Spurs earlier, I thought I'd take a look at the other contenders, even though he would get my vote.
Odegaard, great player, but no Rodri?
Are you kidding? The first player on the team sheet for a Premier League XI for me , does no-one else see this?

Or, indeed anywhere near Los Cristianos where I can watch our game tomorrow?

At times I was waiting for it to burst into a 'Python' like comedy sketch which would have been all the better for it.
Josephine is a bit of a slag, and Boney is a bit of a k unt.
The scene where she opens her stocking clad legs to reveal her secret was begging for the reveal of the Hammersmith coat of arms badge (1798) or at least a portrait of one of Yoann Barbet's ancestors.
My apologies to the cleaner at South Ruislip Cineworld for the popcorn mess I made during this moment are genuine. Especially as I hadn't even bought any.

The apostrophe should be re-introduced.
Much like allowing the murder of influencers uttering 'QPR is sh it' when one should know 'QPR are sh it'.

High Voltage Pete, if you recall, Scott was very magnanimous, and had fond memories of mixing with Stan.
Lizzy live? As good as it gets, equalled of course, before and since but never bettered, the Robbo years on stage were magical, captured brilliantly on 'Live and Dangerous', the cover says it all.
A good analogy by NW5, UFO mit Schenker also showcased on 'Strangers in the Night', giving us, without argument, two of the greatest live albums ever recorded, highlighting the massive impact of 'being there'.

Exactly right.
There's blood family and there's Rangers family.
The amount of funerals I've been to over the last few years leads me to believe that both are equally as important.

Favourite QPR XI
at 03:44 21 Oct 2023

The initial post says favourite, so it's time and a place.

I was just about old and lucky enough to see Rodney, and have no doubt he was the focal point that helped put our club on the map.

From then on, we moved up to what these days would be stellar, all great, Dave Thomas was my hero, Parkes, Clement, Francis, Bowles, not bad, in fact all brilliant.

Then Allen, Stainrod, Gregory, haircuts and swagger, most of all, Terry Fenwick, that man put a shift in every week.

Macca, Maddix, Bannister then Parker to Wegerle and Les with Sinton, Wilkins and the two best full backs in the league, Bardsley and Wilson.

Decline and rebirth, players who put a shift in with a modicum of flair, Padula, Furlong, and grafters/supporters like Bircham and Gallen etc

Then of course to Adel, a ridiculous talent, bettered only by Ale Faurlin, pre-injury, as good as we've had in the middle of the park ever.

Charlie, of course, did us proud but apart from when Willock's hammies naused his career, little else.

Parkes
Clement
Wilson
Wicks
Fenwick
Francis
Faurlin
Thomas
Marsh
Bowles
Taarabt

I'm doubtful if this Ego XI would get on, but when it did...........

His funeral takes place at 2.45pm at Breakspear Crematorium on October 5, with a rather large wake at Wealdstone FC after.
