It is interesting that : “Architects are looking at [the stadium plans] at the moment, we’ve thought about whether there could be a diagnostics centre there, doctors surgeries, we want the ground to become a space for the community and use it 365 days a year.” There’s a bit of a chicken and egg about developing commercial space, really you need the end user to specify, design and sign up to lease commercial space, before it’s built. So the club is doing the right thing seeking an end user. The health uses are an obvious and good suggestion, but GPs and Health Trusts are in my experience a nightmare to pin down to make decisions. I’m not sure that the new football regulator would be a good fit, because of the relatively poor public transport connections which the stadium has. I suspect links to major rail connections would be a prerequisite criteria for site selection. But it’s good the club are making those connections and it’s a positive story showing something is happening! |

I have often asked questions for Trust meetings, my points have been made and I’m told the new owners do not want to rock the boat. In my view they should be doing that, with some urgency. Your second point is extremely germaine though, indeed we cannot change clubs; the sense I get though is that the club know that and treat their customers as captive. This approach will not grow revenue, I attend games via a season ticket, which is the lowest cost way of attendance, I opt to have a pre match meal and beer away from RAFC. Even buying a programme is made difficult. So I can and do take my business elsewhere, whilst continuing to support MY club. You have been a great advocate for the fan engagement process over the years, and that is appreciated as a constructive approach. But endless patience is getting us nowhere, we have seen little change, and my point is we need proactive disruption of the status quo to jump start the change we need to see on and off the pitch. |

So my local pub stops doing beer I like and changes the menu, pies with my pint? Sorry no can do. The landlord explains the grand plans for a new menu, at some point in the future. In the meantime, it’s Carling and a bag of pork scratchings. I protest, but the landlord shrugs, it’s all going to take time. I decide to try a different pub, heard they do my favourite beer and I can get a pie with it! Some time later, I see the old landlord (he’d have emailed me but he didn’t have my email address) he says hey not seen you for ages, I’ve got the new menu and beer back on. I told him me and my mates liked the new pub thanks, the landlord can’t do enough for his valuable customers, I’ll be staying put - cheers. [Post edited 27 Oct 12:06]

The investment needs to happen quickly then, because with every day, every home game, opportunities are dissipating. Other businesses are getting on with it. The inertia is palpable, reasons for not doing things pour out, not only from the club, but from fans as this thread shows. When positive ideas are put forward, well it’s all too difficult a perpetual Groundhog Day. We don’t have a CRM - ok when will we get one? We can’t run functions because the kitchens need refitting. When will we have new kitchens? I liked the Barnet Managers interview, they won yeah, but he wants more, now, not tomorrow now. He wants to win, now. We could do with a bit more of that attitude from our new owners. |

This is a game where tickets should be given away at supermarkets, in pubs, clubs, schools, mosques, churches etc etc. Not made difficult for people. There will be something in the region of 7-8,000 empty seats in the ground. Yet another example of a missed opportunity to grow crowds. New owners, same approach from the club. As bad as gifting goals to the opposition. |

I think Halifax result masks a trend, which is that teams have worked us out. Halifax we’re all over us first half, we scored against the run of play. Fax had to go for it second half, and the game got stretched, and because Fax had run their socks off second half, they tired, still mustered enough to equalise but we nicked it. But, the trend is that all three results are available at kick off when we play, despite having better players on average than the opposing team. We very rarely control a game, whether the opposition is Barnet or Braintree, anything could happen. We’ve better players this year than last, so on average we’ve got a better points per game. It’s a shame we don’t have any consistency of selection, yes we have injuries, but I’m not sure Jim knows what his best team is. Maybe at some point Jim does get to select his best 11 with some consistency and they get the hang of the tactics he wants to use, and we do start to be able to get control over what pattern a game plays out, until he does results are just a lottery. |

Dad has in his 80s - tried online, without success. Rang the number on the email, no answer. Went down to the ground, barrier down, so had to park round the corner. Walked round to the ticket office. Ticket office shut. Others wanting tickets left disappointed. Absolute shambles of a club. |

A win is a win, hopefully builds some confidence. But that was hard to watch, Halifax going forward left the game open and we took our chance. |

1-0 Gordon. Well worked from a corner. We needed that!! |

Commentary team bang on message. ‘Jim not entirely happy with Saturdays performance, we struggled after Southend scored. Fans frustrated by Southend time wasting’. Ah - the boos were for Southend. 🙄 0-0 after 12 mins. All Halifax. |

Both are defensive to challenge, countless examples from SG, who borders aggressive when questioned. Jim asked what did we learn from throwing away a two goal lead at lowly Ebbsfleet, he said ‘nothing, his team were beautiful’. The same defensive approach. Obviously “Greg” throws pies at Jim so he doesn’t get challenged often. Dorking Dale got short shrift down at Ebbsfleet. The same defensive approach. I have no problem with say a Mourinho spouting none sense, he can, he’s won stuff. Jim would get more respect if he levelled. By the way, I’ve read the CO update, but thanks for attaching. My main takeaway was why did it come from one of the Co-chairmen? To me it implied a lack of joined up approach, or worse that the other Co-chairman perhaps didn’t share the view. A Board update would have read much more convincingly- but we know there are those on the current board who don’t want to change. |

Jim’s pre-match interview last night showed he’s a serious chap, or put it another way he takes himself very seriously. Maybe he’s the life and soul in his personal life, with friends, able to laugh at himself. Or like Co-chairman Gauge he’s ok with being fed anodyne questions, but challenge him, and he’s quick to be riled. Culture is set by leaders, we seem to continue to have a belligerent and defensive leadership style on and off the pitch. Gauges influence is diluted now by CO and that seems to be changing if reports of improvements planned are correct. Maybe Jim does have a self aware fun side, now would be a good time to show it publicly. Saying we were beautiful against Ebbsfleet is quite funny though, now I think of it… |

On your firs para, I specifically said The Board. Not individually. The continued existence of 7,000 empty seats is not going to be fixed by playing boring losing football. Our home form is at best unreliable. The board wants to grow crowds, so it is their concern what the manager serves up. My view is we have players cabable of better, but they seem shackled by Jim’s stubbornness. The opposition don’t need to time waste, we waste our own time perfectly well. Your opinion is that most fans enjoy the football, really, can you evidence that, where I sit there is huge frustration at the style of play. Play offs are a nightmare, not an achievement. What is the point? Progress? I’d buy top 3 as a target, but playoffs? Not for me. Contract length means everything - Jim is an unproven young manager, he’s done nothing, I’m rather nervous that he’s BBM reincarnated, working for his CV - and getting paid for three years even if he achieves nothing apart from plaudits fro sycophants. |

My central point is that Jim isn’t being held to account. The hiring Co-chairman has said he enjoys the football Jim’s team play. As we know, SG is not a football man. Fans, watch hundreds of games, commentators, fans neutral and partisan see what is real. We are telanted, but be organised, sit in midfield, let us play across the back. Mark up the second ball and you can nullify us so easily. We can see it, yet Jim is allowed to get away with spouting absolute tripe to fans. Some self awareness and honesty would be so refreshing- we had a player after the Ebbsfleet game showing the manager the way. Honesty, integrity that all I ask. Not bullsh1t baffles brains none sense about how beautiful we are. What I’d like to see is a board position, incidentally not from CO alone as we’ve seen - I mean from the board, we have a cohesive board?? yes?? - the board making it clear that winning on the pitch is central to our future. Jim should never have been given a three year deal, would I sack him, no - but if I were chairman I’d be telling him to stop talking to fans like they don’t know what they’re seeing and to play some more fun football. This stuff is so sh1t (unless the opposing team let us). On the well we’re in the playoffs, well how well do you think we’ll get on in the playoffs? The reality is a 1 in 6 chance, with a nailed on shortened summer break and time to prep for next season. In my view, we have the players to win this league - let them bloody play. |

Aaron McClean can see what fans see, too slow. Been the same throughout under McNulty. He has a three year contract and is allowed to spout Trumpian levels of nonsense to fans. Such a shame to see a talented group of players being wasted by such a stubborn and egotistical coach. “There are lots of things for Rochdale to learn from this” Yes there are - but Jim, Jim’s not interested in Dorkingdale, Aaron McClean or anyone - he’s been hired by non football people and he’s got a three year contract. |

Reality: A dreadful half with Dale unable to string more than a couple of passes together and no shots on goal. 0-1 at ht. commentary saying we need a rethink at ht. Fortunately for them they only have to watch this nonsense occasionally. Jim: We were beautiful, dominated the game, I’m proud of the players who left everything out there. Should have had a penalty, referee was poor etc blah. |

McNultys pre match interview a great example of why pre match interviews are complete nonsense. 🤣🤣🤣 |
