How can they fit anything into 15 minutes? Actually it's less time as the players have to get on and off the pitch. Answer: they can't so half time will no doubt be increased. Lovely. |

Yes some tolerance for offside is needed and if it's in the grey area then go with the online decision like cricket or just give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker (my preference). They don't know exactly when the ball is played exactly anyway, so when it's that close then it's stupid to rule it out. No one used to see a goal like that and thought it was offside before VAR got involved, that was always called level. |

I must be the only person on the planet that doesn't like Hey Jude much and it goes on for about 4 business days. I think Yesterday is a bit overrated as well, it's ok I guess, but nowhere near their best. |

I don't think there is an ideal outcome from here. Sign a peace deal, avoid WW3, but lose 20% of land and hope war doesn't break out again in a few years is about the best that can be hoped for. Why prolong it further without the prospect of any of these options improving while losing countless men? |
 | Forum Reply | Trump v Zelensky at 11:48 4 Mar 2025
The US can't give security assurances against Russia, because say Russia continue to attack then you are in WW3 and the nukes could start flying shortly after. The minerals deal was to get US "security" into Ukraine as a form of soft power to protect US interests which would deter Putin from attacking further without the danger of it triggering an official direct conflict. The way people have lost their minds at Trump having a go at Zelensky on TV, but are happy for the Ukrainian people to continue to be slaughtered daily for a few years completely baffles me. |

I'm sure with enough extra men and firepower Ukraine could do better and maybe win the war, but where are those extra men going to come from? If you are between 25 and 55 I believe you can sign up yourself or if you're too old you might have a son or other younger family or friends you could encourage to sign up instead. It would be hell on earth and you'd almost certainly be killed, but if you think it's all worth it you could put your own life on the line. If suddenly you don't fancy it (and I wouldn't really blame you) then why should the young Ukrainian men be forced into it instead? "What if Russia had invaded England and they had 20% under their control" I'm probably the wrong person to ask, I walk around parts of London these days and it feels completely alien to me. I certainly wouldn't be getting myself blown to stop Russia from owning a part of it, even if it was remotely likely. |

I know some people in Ukraine who live in the East, they know several of their friends who have been dragged off to the front line to be slaughtered. The husband is hiding and can't leave the house as he might get taken by the army and almost certainly killed. They are desperate for the war to end and their opinion is that they are being sacrificed by the West as a proxy to weaken Russia, in fact several US and European politicians have admitted this over the last few years. They can't stand Zelensky and would vote against him given a chance, but there's no elections being held there anymore, so what can they do? Zelensky refuses to even speak to the Russians I don't know why Starmer and other European leaders are so desperate for the war to continue and no peace deal to be found. They can't beat Russia so will lose the land to the East eventually anyway, so what's the point of feeding more young men to the meat grinder for another year or two and possibly losing even more if their country? I really hope Starmer doesn't start involving us in the conflict even further, it would be complete madness. |

The worst for that was Graeme Le Saux. "Another controversial penalty for Man Utd Graeme, what do you think of the decision?" "Well the tackle came in, the player went down and the referee has decided to give a penalty" Extra points if they point out that the referee "had a good view of it", as if that's the most important part, rather than making the right decision. |

What happened with his court case? Is it all over now? |

I hate all these slight infringements the ref missed that are pulled up by VAR. Brushing a hand for a penalty or a toenail offside are the worst ones. So much better without any of that crud in the Championship. |

I got the same diagnosis for one of my dogs a few years ago, I kept him hanging on for too long when in hindsight it would have been better for all of us if I made the hard decision to put him down sooner. I really regret that last week that didn't really need to happen. It's a very difficult time, my sympathies. |

Watford hit the post. We've been good, but Watford could have scored 2-3 in the last 10 minutes. |

I reckon Fury needs to be in amazing shape to win this and looks like he's heavier than last time, so I think he'll lose again. I'm no boxing expert, but I'm sure they looked in better condition in the 80s and 90s in general than now. |
