When does patience become panic??? 11:00 - Oct 16 with 1972 viewskingsburyR

We are now mid way through October and I fully exxpect us to climb away from the bottom three.

In this position in 4 weeks time and I may panic a tad.

Bottom at Xmas and hysteria may be the order of the day.

Dont know why we bother. .... but we do!

I think you'll find that many are panicking already.
When Hughes was at Fulham they were third bottom on Boxing Day - we saw them lose very badly at home to West Ham that day before our own match - and ended up around eighth. So no need for a panic yet.
We do need a win soon though, or it becomes a self perpetuating thing.

Yeah but the team Hughes had at Fulham had the season before finished 12th in the premier league and got to the UEFA cup final - slightly different situation.

Still Hughes has the board's backing and apparently the players backing, so let's see what he can do over the next month or so.

Still the start's been bad enough that it will need a hell of a turnaround in form for this season to be anything but another relegation scrap.

I'll be a little bit worried if we haven't won by Christmas.

Not as worried as I will be though if we keep starting Park and SWP.

The answer to your question is when you run out of one the other arrives in large doses.

Bottom at xmas and endemic panic will spread throughout W12 and its regular visitors.

If Hughes is still in charge at Xmas time.

Oops, that was rather negative.

When Everton walk off with 3 points on Sunday without even trying.

I predict a bladdy thrashing actually. Drilled, physical, confident. All the boxes ticked.

That's the spirit.........
World beaters that were lucky to get a draw at Wigan!

Well when 'Arry took over at Spurs they were 2pts after 8 games, so we're not even in that much bother yet.

Surely if we get anything at all from the next two and then actually win against Reading and Southampton everyone will breathe a sigh of relief and believe all is well...... less than that and I imagine yet more ripples of panic around the place.

‘morbid curiosity about where this is all going’

A game that we would have rolled over in....again.

Sorry but until I see anything different and I think right now we're in a world of sh*t and Hughes don't have a Scooby about how to get out of this one.

I agree, as would most fans, we need to win and quickly, against Everton would be fantastic, please.

If Everton score in the first 10 minutes, i think panic might set in...

There's an assumption here that sacking personnel is a panic measure. It is often a sensible, thought out strategy that takes key factors into account.

Naturally I hope the team starts winning and this becomes a non-issue. However, if we are still rooted to the bottom come December, a change of manager would be sensible povided a viable alternative is available.

Sadly I do but betting on QPR has become a bit of a no go for me cos barring Norwich 1-1 I never get much right and the heart rules my head. I was contemplating sticking all my savings on us to beat Swansea at evens. In a crass way it would have been fitting to have done that and see the car crash unfold infront of my own eyes as my whole year goes up in smoke.

I've said before on here and I'll say it again, Hattersley at Stockport draws in some unbelievable odds for 1st and last. Cleaned up a few time on him this season including last week where he was getting 17/2 on Bet Vic. Ridiculous but great.

November 1st = time to start thinking about panicking if certain people have still got their heads in the sand.

Serious answer, after Reading at home. If we've lost three, or drawn one and lost two of the next three games, then it's time to start having a bit of a think.

Why do so many on here think that Reading and Southampton are 'gimmies'?

If anything, these are the bannana skins we normally slip up on. Reading came to HQ with a 2nd string side not so long ago and won; West Ham (who were poor and regarded as 'easier' opponents) turned us over with ease, so why will Southampton and Reading be any different?

Hughes is clearly not changing his style or personel, so why will things get any better? I hope I'm clearly proved wrong and he unleashes Zamora, Hoilett and Taarabt on Sunday...

I don't think anybody thinks they're gimmies, I think people are quite reasonably seeing them as more likely point winning opportunities than the other fixtures around them.
