Short term loan deals 13:40 - Jan 27 with 2028 viewsChockers1

Hi All
Can anyone else remember not just Rochdale but any team having as many loan singings as we have had this year??

I know were in a mess but player turn over is so high they can never expect to get in sink with each other when its chopping and changing and i think we all know the tactics at times have been drop dead awful!!!

Who do we think if any we will go for before end of the January singing window?? I know Stevenage was a mess at the back,,, laughable...but our defence is stronger then the start of the season...where would you want to see our money spent if Coleman goes into the market??

Do we have enough in now to stay up? I think we could well stay up with what we have got, good tactics and consistency we could well do it!

Any loan that is shorter than window to window is classed as a short term loan I think.

Based on that we've had:

David Ball (twice)
Nathan Eccleston
Harry Bunn
Roland Bergkamp
Peter Kurucz
Daniel Bogdanovic
Brett Ormerod
Kevin Long.

We've also cut short the loan deals of Pim Balkestein and Jake Kean. Dean Holden was also a short term loan but we've turned it into a permanent deal.

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

Both long term loans as they went window to window so in terms of long terms there's those two plus Stephen Darby as well. An unbelievable amount of loan players this season.

We're loaning players to replace loan players. Too many loan players were signed who didn't add anything in terms of quality. Ahmad Benali was signed as a favour to City. Matthew Barnes-Homer was signed as we needed a striker but he was about 10th choice at the time and done as a favour to Luton Town.

In most cases this season we'd have been better off using our own younger players:

Barnes Homer - Reece Gray or Godwin Abadaki
Benali - Jamie Allen or Sam Minihan
Kurucz - Edwards with Taberner as back up

I'm sure there are more.

I seem to remember one season Blackpool had 15 loanees in the days of Steve McMahon
