Saito and Edwards 00:22 - Feb 15 with 2992 views | stainrods_elbow | I'm still creaming over Koki's supernatural leap over Callum the Elder for Chair's second goal. He's 5'7; Elder is 5'11 - I did my research, people! - but Saito must have risen a foot above him to win that header. The goal, as a whole, was a thing of utter teamworked beauty. Perhaps they should put him up against Callum the Younger next time? This smiley, skilful, uberrespectful guy is going for big, big money one day, but I hope with all the contents of my Pandora's Box we can hold onto him for as long as possible. I also think Edwards is going to get better and better. If we could somehow sign him for next season, that would be massive for us. It's all we want as fans, isn't it? To hope and dream, and look up at the stars? [Post edited 15 Feb 2:11]

Saito and Edwards on 07:09 - Feb 15 with 2601 views | Landshark | Unless Southampton pull off a miracle and stay in the Premier League I can't see us getting Edwards. As the saying goes, never get attached to loan players. Southampton purchased him for £3 million in the summer which is already out of our price range, plus there are apparently big sell on percentages to Peterborough and Barnet. Southampton wouldn't even consider a deal south of £5 million for him. Koki on the other hand, I really hope the club have a clause to sign him at the end of his deal here. Like you say, that salmon leap to win the header was class. I didn't think he had it in him to win a header like that. He surprises me each week. Most players would have attempted to hit the goal he scored first time but he had the intelligence and skill to take a touch away from the keeper and blast it in. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Saito and Edwards on 13:33 - Feb 15 with 2196 views | BrizR | Koki's won a few headers lately that you'd never expect him to, good vertical leap on him. All the nice polite respectful stuff is true but the guy has a will to win to go with it and seems to be fully up with the physicality of the league now. The Saito/Chair/Yang forward three looked fantastic yesterday and the combination for that third goal capped it off beautifully. Really hope that with him being out of contract at Lommel the club has everything lined up to keep him in the summer. Would love Edwards too but can't imagine Saints are going to do anything with him other than make him a starter in the Championship next season. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Saito and Edwards on 13:48 - Feb 15 with 2137 views | Dorse | Wasn't it Parker who had the mysterious levitation ability? The memory's not what it was but I'm sure he was able to beat pretty much anyone in the air. Mind you, Sir Les had a similar ability despite being shorter than most CBs he played against. | ![](/images/avatars/17282.gif) |

Saito and Edwards on 14:27 - Feb 15 with 2002 views | Noelmc | Yes Parker had a tremendous leap and must have been one of the shortest centre backs to play at the English top level. I remember a match against Arsenal where Alan Smith hardly won a header playing against him. Although he played at right back for England and Man U, I always thought he was better at centre back. | ![](/images/avatars/3977.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Would absolutely love to sign Saito and Edwards. From what we've seen so far i'd also love for us to extend Yang's loan for another year if we don't go up. Sad reality is that we probably only have a real shot at Saito and the more he impresses the more I worry a fellow Championship club woll beat us to his signing and offer him higher wages [Post edited 15 Feb 15:22]

Saito and Edwards on 12:11 - Feb 16 with 842 views | numptydumpty | Saito is improving game on game. He was on the same flank as Mendez -Laing and talk about a difference in physique. He actually shoulder charged him and the beast that was Mendez-Laing fell tamely to ground. Well and truly out muscled !! I am sure a deal will be announced at any future fans forum / distinguished guests' get together. Edwards is class but can not see any scenario where he is still ours next season. It's an odd one but if by some miracle, we went up, even then I would suggest he leaves Southampton and goes elsewhere in the Prem. His stock rising, will not have gone unnoticed. His price will be much higher. Yang could be on loan here next season - could see that being a possibility myself. And again, that could be decent for ourselves. Two out of the three, for me, will still be here. Halcyon days !! [Post edited 16 Feb 12:14]

Parker played either CB or Sweeper in our back 5. He would rotate Sweeper with Macca. Maddix was always the other CB. When playing Sweeper he would come out with the ball run 10 yards and pass it, hence this is how we beat the closing down (press as they call it today) of the oppo. Scored his only goal this way against Luton. When playing CB, his job was to man-mark the forward. Forwards would include people like Wright one week or Fash the Bash. Seeing Fash the Bash being out-jumped was especially funny as Fash was lost at the sight of Parker out-jumping him and winning headers. Wright didn't like it either. One week, Wrighty was outpaced by Walker and the next by Parker, meaning he got no joy whatsoever and was made to look very poor indeed week after week. Wright never talks about that much, funny that. Paul Parker was so good; Pele literally, whilst visiting London, came to Loftus Road to watch him play, just him. Manure bought him and totally wasted him at RB. He should have moved abroad, to somewhere like Italy, where he would have been a god, and then get a move to Madrid. Wasted at Manure at RB. | ![](/images/avatars/1596.gif) |
