Why would you think that? Millwall have had a couple of wins recently but against Luton and Portsmouth and only by one goal. Previously they'd lost to Hull and Oxford recently. No guarantees but I'd imagine it'll be close and dependant on who scores first.

You hit the nail on the head there Nicole if QPR score first we will win I think.Just like last week if we went ahead I feel strongly we would have taken the 3 points but their bar saved them our post screwed us . Milwall are big and rough much like Sheffield Wednesday but our skill players should be able to out manouver and outrun them creating more chances hopefully . Milwall 1 QPR 2

Because I believe Clive’s description of Jimmy Dunne as currently being the “heartbeat of the team” is 100% correct. Without him we become very vulnerable on our right flank, our goal scoring threat at set pieces is gone and the morale of the team is going to be severely impacted.

That's a fair point. He has solved some of the structural problems in this team, by providing height and physicality. I think we're a better team overall than early in the season though and maybe we're replacing physicality with pace, hence bringing in Yang? Another possibility is he puts Edwards in at RB playing a similar role to Jimmy? Or we play five at the back with Smyth as a wing back? Marti must have thought about this as there was always the chance JD would get injured/leave in January. I don't think any of us would have put Jimmy in that role in the first place, so I trust Marti to find a workaround. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Choose your adventure – Preview on 09:01 - Feb 1 with 1022 views | GaryBannister86 | Thanks Clive, your previews are as excellent as the reports. As sad as it is about Jimmy - would be so tough to lose someone with such heart and commitment, but we all know what can happen if he were to sign a new contract. Sheffield Wednesday nullified him easily last week and no doubt that would become the norm and within a few weeks we're wondering why £2m wasn't taken. Would much prefer he stayed, became the best RB in the championship and the heartbeat of our side for many years, but if he were to leave we'll get over it. I guess my main frustration is that we should be able to keep hold of the Dunne types. Good, but not great. All commitment and heart. As you say, get the contract renewal offers at the right time, something it seems we have been poor at. It's the really good ones we won't be able to keep.

Yep, if we do have to do without him I certainly agree that Ronnie Edwards would be my choice to fill in at right back for the rest of the season, provided we’ve got two fit centre-backs and he’s not needed there. If he is, maybe the five at the back you suggested would be the best option.

I agree historically we've been poor at renewing contracts. But we've just renewed Chair, Morgan, Kolli and Lloyd. It wasn't that long ago we renewed Field. I think Morgan and Kolli and potentially Lloyd have a much bigger possible upside than Jimmy. If we also bring in Vale then focussing just on losing Jimmy as some are seems unnecessarily negative given the other activity in the window. Especially as we haven't played one match without him. I agree we'd manage somehow.

I’m sure you’ll all do us proud and I’ll be sure to get some video of the away end for someone with the social media channels to post (I have opted out). …should the worst happen and I get outed, I have some beef jerky with me which i have had West Ham’s logo tattooed on, so I can throw some to the locals to gnaw on as a peace offering.

Lol! I’m not sure I’d be able to do this. I just automatically stand up if we score, like Pavlov’s dog (stop it!). Hope you have a good day but the away end have a better time!

Personally I’d love to see him stay, but suspect he will go. Loved the line, ‘That horse had bolted, enjoyed a long and successful career in racing, retired, sired many a future champ, and died before we got round to asking whether it might like another sugar lump’. LOL 😂.
