The Effects of a Christian Nourry Fans Forum 14:54 - Nov 6 with 1332 viewsnumptydumpty

So at this heralded event in the not so distant past, Nourry amongst his attempts at fan engagement at the recent fans forum, five announcements were made, which were all supposed to be progressive and something we as a fanbase could get excited about.

So in no particular order.

There was the announcement that Jake Clarke Salter had signed a new long term contract, however almost immediately afterwards, from a training session, it has appeared he has picked up an injury which has kept him out ever since. Funny that this mysterious twinge happened at this particular moment +!+

We also learnt that Dembele has triggered his permanent contract with ourselves, and it is for the medium to long term, whatever that is. Again almost immediately afterwards he picked up some kind of injury in training, the day before match day and again not been seen since. Wow another mysterious twinge after his long term financial secure future has been resolved.

Marti and Xavi were both then unveiled as having signed very long term extensions to their contracts, meaning it's even more expensive for us to get rid of them, should we so wish. Strange that the form ever since has taken an almighty nosedive. Bizzarre

Also announced was we were very fortunate to still have Ben Williams, just a year after being made Director of Performance, but that he would be working remotely from Dubai, whilst undertaking other roles for other sports clubs. Again strange that ever since nearly half of our squad and basically nearly all of them being first choice first team players, who have disappeared into the injury ether !!

This could be explained by this all being extremely bad luck.

However, there could also be a case of downing tools, as their new money contracts are now all set in stone nicely for all of them.

Am I being a little cynical.

Or are five so called improvements all going down the cul de sac route and all together is just simply a coincidence or extreme bad luck !!!

It doesn't look good.

Answers on a post card please !!

Can't blame anyone for being cynical at the moment. Injuries are terrible at the moment, and killing any chance of turning this around.Injuries do seem to increase when we are struggling badly though🤔

I suspect it's not coincidence. Just a hunch!

It was the same thing with Austin and Johansen, to name just two.

Some of these people should try working in my sector(s) (freelance higher education, EFL teaching + editing), where even a nine month contract is like goldust. And if I'm sacked, I'm like almost all normal workers - I get, wahay, a whole month's notice. Right now, for instance, I have to go to arbitration to try to get 1,500e back on a course fee after the client, through no fault of my own, cancelled. And so it goes on.

'Paying up' contracts is just one of the many sicknesses in football, but best not get me started or the usual suspects will be digging me out for telling it as it is.

In other news, I just we had a three month international break right now, so QPR could f*ck off out of my life and I could feel like a more normal person again for a bit.

Poll: How many points will we take from our next 3 games (S'land H, M'bro H, Leeds A)?

Aaahh….the international break, when the manager has a couple of weeks on the training ground to get things sorted out.

Special needs.

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

Special needs.

Perhaps

However few years ago I worked within a learning disability organisation where we supported people with low level learning disabilities and some with down syndrome also.

And I had the pleasure of playing five a side most Saturday mornings with the guys in our football get togethers and was involved in a few tournaments against other areas support services.

Teams were mixed with support staff and clients.

The enthusiasm and not a little skill put the efforts of many of our professionals to shame.

So placing our club under special needs is actually under estimating where we are at.

Would replace "special needs" as the definition with "beyond hope" !!!
