The Iranian embassy siege is when the SAS became public so to speak, Maggie Thatcher insisted the raid was live on TV and no smoke grenades were used she wanted to show the world what happened when you messed with the British. What a different country we are now, now we would most probably rap them up in a rainbow flag and offer them counselling.

Yep, and the SAS personnel involved would probably be facing investigation and a likely court appearance for using lethal force. Various NGOs would be issuing statements of condemnation.

Initially, I laughed at your comment but very quickly reality smacked me hard in the face!
