New Manager: odds on 23:42 - May 24 by numptydumpty
Not sure your last paragraph is at all relevant in professional football.
In all other industries yes
But valour honesty and integrity generally means mediocre in this game. Examples ???
It's a win at all costs game and although I agree in reality your statement is correct do you really believe that those that get to the top and succeed are pearly white and as innocent and honourable in this game where huge financial rewards are on offer.
Basically, this.
You only have to look at the clown's car that is Watford to see what goes on. In relation to the incoming Rob Edwards, the following quote.
QUOTE
Rob was a key part of the team that gained promotion to League One this season,” a Forest Green statement said. “We’re disappointed that our support, loyalty and honesty towards Rob has been repaid in this way — with negotiations taking place behind our backs. We had no contact from Watford, from whom we might expect less, but in any event this kind of behaviour gives football a bad name. We thank Rob for all his work at FGR — forgive him the manner of his departure and wish him well.
UNQUOTE
The Guardian
That is possibly also why there is so little in the way of sentiment when managers and players go from clubs.
And as to Rob Edwards, he needs to ask himself how many managers in the history of Pozzo's ownership have made it past one year.

He'll be well aware of that though won't he? So when it does end relatively soon he'll have pocketed a decent sum (and may continue to for a while afterwards) and can move onto a new job without too much industry-wide judgement against him. These basket cases are their own piggy banks as we're all too aware.

Wikipedia says Michael Beale appeared in three early episodes of Eastenders. In episode 17 he left a discussion with several other family members in the Queen Vic in search of some change for the fruit machine and was never seen, heard, or mentioned of again.

Well if it doesn't work out he can always go and get a job down the cafe after!

I'm pretty certain that I saw Michael Beale last year, he was dressed up in the Hare Krishna attire and he was leaving Tesco's with two bags of what looked like grocery Items. He was bald and he had a big bongo drum thing hanging around his neck and he looked a bit orange in complexion. This all happened outside of the Tesco's Metro on the Cowley Road, Oxford. I haven't seen him since.
My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

There’s only one way to follow that amazing revelation …

Not sure if this a serious post? I must admit that I do act the fool on here sometimes. Close season is probably not the best time to make judgements on people as there's not much meaningful happening.

Another day. Another new candidate. He’s impressed me in the past tho not from a conventional football management background.
DoF frantically Googles him to see if he’s a viable option, looks at his other options, shouts out to his secretary “ get me the shopkeeper from Mr Ben’s agent’s phone number”
