Embarrassing. Defensively frail throughout.
At least we know why Koeman is scared to play Cedric in other games and why Caulker doesn't get a look in most weeks. I didn't think we'd miss Clyne but by god we do!
I can't be bothered to look into it (and it'd be too depressing anyway) but we seem to concede goals quickly - once we concede one, we concede another. Like I say, defensively frail. Got to sort it out quickly or we'll be hammered again and again.

Come on DPeps, Is it surprising that a £5m player isn't as good as one who was actually worth 3 or 4 times as much? Also , can you really expect players roped in for the odd game, to slot seamlessly in to the system. Half of them don't know whether they'll be picked next week or where they'll be playing if they are picked. Sorry, early , angry response but RK, the honeymoon's over.

Dreadful, dreadful! Where do we go from here! Caulker & Clasie have no idea how to play for Saints. They shouldn't play again for a long while. No energy or commitment tonight. Play like that consistently and we will be in relegation trouble, forget about Europe, Top 4 etc.

Our performance does not really warrant a comment, apart from the fact that we were well and truely shown how to press, hunt in packs, keep possession, find our team mates, pass quickly and accurately and how to be clinical with our finishing.

We now know why Caulker doesn't play much - in fairness, I think Ron was expecting him to be up against Benteke, not Sturridge, but either way, he was absolutely shocking !!

Liverpool had 7 shots on target and scored with 6 of them - kind of tells us how good our keeper was !!

Still big queues outside, so guessing more turnstile issues with print your own tickets. This meant that quite a few missed the Saints goal !!

One word - Shambles! The only player to come out of that mess with any credit is Fonte to show why we miss his defensive organisation. The rest including the manager will be rightly hurting and the need to show a positive reaction against Villa on Sat.

Beaten by a clinical side on the up. Pool had 6 shots up till 89 mins, all went in. This is our weakness...we are the worst in the league at shots on target/goals.

Shattering defeat. Need to pick up quickly if we are to beat Villa on sat

Embarrasing to concede six! Awful display. Caulker, Cedric and Clasie do not seem to be up to the Premier League. Need some new blood in January otherwise I can see Saints slipping down the table rapidly! Not sure whether to be gutted or angry but come on Koeman shake them up before Saturday please!!!

How bad was Caulker - terrible thats how bad. Who coached him to back away from strikers and give them 6 yards of space when in the box? How slow is he to get across to players when he is the nearest defender - really slow. And for a big unit - and he is big strong boy - why cant he tackle with any meaning or aggression. He has no bite or fight in him at all.
OK i am on a rant now - lets keep going.
The Pelle gambit. OK so we hit Pelle with lots of balls and he is a master at heading on or chest down. When he heads on he needs one or two players near him to run off the header - say Mane and a creative midfielder its right - then Tadic and a creative midfielder if its left. Tad and Mane are too far away patrolling the wings.
Then Pelle chests down - and passes to who? He needs a creative midfielder 10 yards from him to either run at the defence or play a 1-2 or something. How many times did a Pelle win result in the ball being played to big Vic - loads thats how many - he should not be the first option - he should be the last option.

We lack a real creative tricky clever player to partner Pelle - or is that Juanami? Lets hope so. Its not really long - he is better working with Mane to provide a different type of attack, one based on break / pace.

Lets keep going - Claisie - i dont get it - i want my DMs to be 6 foot and fast, not as tall as Ronnie Corbet and slow - be small and fast OK but not small and slow. I have seen nothing from Claisie that Harrison Reed does not have - including height.

Finally - game play. There was a moment last night - we were attacking the Northam End - and 3 or 4 balls in came back, we had every player over the half way line - loading pressure on Liverpool - we were 1-2 down - the box had 4 Saints players in it - the ball was cleared to our right back - did he play the ball back in - did he f*** - he played it back to the keeper !! Why - why - why would you do that when the whole team is waiting for a ball in again - who is coaching these players to make decisions like that - play it back to your keeper instead of into the danger zone.

And the ref was bad.

I am dribbling now i better stop - FU2
