FA Cup third round draw pits Leeds against Arsenal Monday, 2nd Dec 2019 19:46 by Lucas Monk Leeds United have tonight found themselves drawn away to Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup. United will travel to Emirates Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup, and will take on an Arsenal side that have endured a particularly fallow run of form of late. The tie will take place in the week commencing December 30. Leeds last did battle with the Gunners - who are presently eighth in the Premier League - in January 2012. Making his second debut for club, Thierry Henry came off the bench and scored the winning goal for Arsenal with 12 minutes remaining. The Whites were unfortunate to lose out that evening, having put up an admirable fight, and they will fancy their chances in light of Arsenal's barren run of results in recent weeks. Arsenal recently parted company with manager Unai Emery, and will in all probability have appointed a replacement by the time these two sides take to the field. With Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds playing a high-octane style and pushing for promotion to the Premier League and Arsenal having foundered since the departure of longstanding coach Arsene Wenger last year, this promises to be a most compelling match.
