Saints Allegedly Planning Summer Raid On Newcastle. Monday, 20th Apr 2015 10:29 Saints are being rumoured to be considering making a double swoop on Tyneside in the summer, news that will cause unrest in the Geordie Nation. Saints are apparently considering a move for Tim Krul and Daryl Janmaat when the transfer window opens in the summer, with Fraser Forster looking likely to be out till well into the campaign, perhaps longer that would suggest Saints are pondering going for an experienced keeper who is first choice at his current club and that could mean they are concerned just how long Forster will be out. Right back Janmaat only joined Newcastle last summer and is an obvious target to be linked with Saints for several reasons, firstly he is Dutch, secondly he played under Ronald Koeman at Feyenoord and thirdly it is highly likely we will need a new right back next season. Janmaat has had a good first season at St James Park scoring one goal but providing six assists and it is likely Newcastle will want a lot more than the £5 million they paid for him last summer. Indeed it seems that whenever a Dutch player is mentioned for a transfer to the Premier league Ronald Koeman's name is linked so how much substance these rumours actually have is another matter.
