wizzler, do at least try and get your priorities right and concentrate on what really matters.

To Sports Republic, getting a team together to play football is just an inconvenience.

Their focus now is solely on getting my mother ( died in 2016 ) to eat for free in the Dell Pub on Mother’s Day. That’s today’s email, yesterday it was an invitation to a summer party at £47.00 plus V A T.

Our beloved Saints football team is on its way to extinction, shortly to be replaced by St Mary’s Theme Park Ltd.

Nothing to worry about, we can all go to a summer party.
at 21:13 24 Feb 2025

Possibly the worst season in living memory, bottom of the league for months and 1/500 to be relegated.

All is not lost however, because according to the club’s latest email, for £47 plus V A T each we can all go to the Gasworks and have a party to celebrate.

Welcome to the new Southampton Football Club/Theme Park that only ever communicates with it’s fans for the purpose of relieving them of their money.

Rishi Sunak sat next to Phil Parsons at Saturday’s game
at 08:08 24 Feb 2025

Nice one Pat.

Perhaps Mr Sunak could at least now do something useful and persuade his wife to let him have a few bob to buy our current owners out ?

After all, given the club’s not exactly healthy financial position declared in the last accounts, and that on the pitch we are in free fall, some of her petty change would probably suffice.

Would any new owner also be forced to buy Goztepe and Valenciennes?
at 16:38 23 Feb 2025

Don’t be too troubled Pat because I suspect there is absolutely no chance that anyone would be daft enough to buy out Solak and our Swiss friend at the price they would want.

We just need to concern ourselves with the prospect of next season watching Preston North End on a freezing cold Wednesday night in January as we attempt to avoid another consecutive relegation.

And I thought the Branfoot era was as bad as it got.

I appreciate that you are a recent arrival to The Ugly Jo, but honestly is your comment serious or an attempt at sarcasm ?

Genuine question and not meant to offend.

The next home game’s miserable, abject surrender, display of football incompetence, won’t take place until March 15 so no need to go anywhere near the St Mary’s theme park for three weeks now.

In the meantime, condolences to all those who have bought tickets to Chelsea and Liverpool away.

As long as there is a queue for greasy spoon breakfasts at the Dell Pub during the week It would not bother the doughnuts who own and manage the club if St Mary’s were to be totally empty on match days.

In fact they would probably prefer it that way as (much like the days on which the club shop is closed) there would be no need to employ anyone to run and secure the stadium.

In fact why don’t they go the whole hog, disband the football club and turn the whole site into a theme park ? Although in truth they would probably f ck that up as well.

So does he.

At this very moment he is writing the players names on individual pieces of paper and placing them in a tombola machine.

At 13.00 hrs one of the club mascots will open the machine, draw out Eleven pieces of paper and tell Punch his starting eleven and then the substitutes will follow.

It’s the Sports Republic way, do the exact opposite of anything sensible.

This fella is brought in, but doesn’t play regularly, and we pay him £ thousands a week to train and keep fit.

Ross Stewart is brought in even though he is injured, also doesn’t play ( apart for the odd appearance for the under 21’s ) and we pay him £thousands a week to train and try and get fit.

Whilst at the same time we supposedly can’t afford to pay staff minimum wage to open the club shop every day of the working week.

With these types of decisions it’s hardly surprising we’ve been relegated from the Premier League twice in three years is it ?

Was it wrong to dispense with RM this season?
at 16:37 18 Feb 2025

I posted after the weekend the clocks went back that we would be relegated because the players were not Premiership quality and so it’s transpired.

Two relegations in three years are not down to Russell Martin or his successor.

Blame lies with the Club’s owners in appointing a group of doughnuts to run our Club and then failing to replace them when it is obvious to every man and his dog that they simply didn’t have a clue what they were doing.

Most clubs when promoted to the Premier League either stick with the players who got them there and spend little or bin the players and spend big.

Sports Republic management have achieved the virtually impossible having stuck with the players and spent £ millions to accumulate 9 points by the middle of February.

In so doing they have turned an established and respected Premiership football club into a laughing stock.

The concern going forward is what happens next because there will not be another swift return to the top flight with our club owned by the current owners and controlled by Sports Republic’s current employees.

Today 752 season ticket holders who have already paid to attend, put their tickets on the ticket exchange and nobody bought them.

The club has a big problem.

It’s called supporters voting with their feet and will now become the norm until the seasons end I suspect.

How ungrateful of you in wanting a competitive football team as well as being able to get a greasy spoon breakfast from 08.00 in The Dell Pub and extra spending money on a P and O cruise.

Not forgetting of course the opportunity to buy an yellow away shirt you don’t want,at a knockdown price, from a club shop which only opens on the third Sunday in Lent and alternate Jewish High Holidays.

Some people are just never satisfied.

For your own ongoing wellbeing pull yourself together immediately and chant the mantra :- The future is bright, the future is Sports Republic.

Ticket Exchange/ Sell Out
at 22:45 13 Feb 2025

674 seats for sale as at 22.30hrs Thursday Nick.

Not to worry though because today Sports Republic sent me yet two more emails. This time telling me I was entitled to extra spending money if I booked a P and O cruise and I could also take part in the Dell Pub quiz night.

Welcome to the new Southampton F C :- An entertainment and marketing business with a mens and ladies football team attached.

Honestly Nick are you surprised ?

It’s called voting with your feet and after last Saturday’s ridiculous team selection ( four full backs and no recognised centre forward) and another abject defeat, this time to Burnley reserves I’m surprised it’s not more.

No doubt the attendance figure will be announced as 31000 given that season ticket holders are counted even if they don’t turn up.

The problem for Sports Republic is 600 odd won’t be buying overpriced food and beer or merchandise in the club shop, should they be bothered to open it that is.

Spot on grumps.

No Danny Rohl because Sports Republic didn’t want to pay commission allegedly.

No problem though, given that the Dell Pub is now able to serve greasy spoon breakfasts and I’ve been given the opportunity of buying a yellow away shirt I don’t want,at a knock down price, from a club shop that is hardly ever open.

All part of their long term plan to turn a once respected football club into a theme park.
