Not black and white this… getting humped in the gob every week is soul destroying, but the best season in probably my life time was that promotion year under Warnock . It’s where we have to aspire too otherwise what really is the point ? However I feel like an imposter even thinking about it right now . But I guess that’s the mentality that Marti and the club need to change . |

Get in there . Huge win what with other results today already . The bottom is going to get really close with maybe the exception of Plymouth . They look done at the moment . So many chances that I thought a repeat of last season might happen, but we looked strong and solid and maybe last Saturday can be put to bed . Back 4 were fantastic today . Nardi didn’t make a save but Big Jimmy is just a colossus again. Liked Morgan again today . Chair improving steadily and lovely little finish by Kolli. Lots to learn , including me arranging a meeting with my landlord at 1pm, and improve on but some really good signs . Come on you Supa!!!! |

100% in agreement . In Mc first game EDB was his main playmaker in midfield and he did pretty well. But doesn’t seem to be stepping up . Chances have been limited in fairness to EDB but when he does get a chance he looks miles off this season . A loan might do him good for his future personally . Santos too |

Dundee signed a left back from Brighton yesterday on a 2 and a half year deal . I wonder if that means Larkeche is being recalled ? |

Reece Grego-Cox on the bench for Dagenham too |

Mr / Mrs / ms Hubble I take your point . In the cold light of a Monday morning it does come across as a bit high and mighty . Keeps saying I shouldn’t post on a Sunday night but I still do . However I do stand by the premise and for that we’ll have to agree to disagree . My last paragraph as follows. “Listen I don’t expect our fan base to accept losing 6-2. It hurts . Some of the criticism has been fair and deserved . But 25 pages, multiple threads , personal attacks , calling the coach and someone who continues to polish an ever growing turd….a liar…. Come on .” I stand by that as I saw posters who I greatly respect resort to some weird old rants and it was more those I got annoyed with , but didn’t mean to belittle anybody nonetheless,so apologies where needed . |

Great report Clive . Get your frustration and many others . Both sides of the inevitable argument covered fairly and I, like you see both sides . My gut feeling is to be in the other camp but yes of course , I’m sick of the clubs record at this stage or any stage really of this cup competition. I just live in fear of being dragged down into that relegation fight once again so why risk our best (on form) fit defender right now ? But as I said previously , it was always going to split the fan base …and that it did . |

We’re still bleating on about yesterday then. All players who played with the exception of Walsh have played plenty of football this season . No one was out there who shouldn’t have been .That wasn’t our ‘second string’ . It wasn’t a bunch of kids brought out of the stiffs to play a premier league team . We just weren’t good enough . We didn’t retain the football well enough just like every other game this season. We just didn’t get away with it this time. I read things like “Marti lied to us”, “that starting line up was minging”, “f*cking furious with Marti” and god knows what the idiot I’ve muted has vomited out in the last 24 hours. Seen usually reasonable and interesting and sensible posters be personally abusive to a couple of players . Come on guys . We all hate losing . Conceding 6 is embarrassing of course . But take a breath ffs. Plenty to disagree with Marti on yesterday. No subs at half time for example. Seemed strange to me but there would be a reason for it. I don’t know why but my guess is he likes his players to play themselves out of bad form . Thats why Madsen started . Thats why he persevered with Ashby….thats why he never took Fox off against Portsmouth.. we don’t have to agree with any of that stuff , but we’re all football manager 2025 in hindsight aren’t we? MC has been in charge for just over a year . The fact that we go out in the 3rd round year after year after year isn’t Marti’s burden to carry . It’s not his problem . It’s our problem and rightly so . We’re entitled not to accept that, but a coach ultimately lives and dies by his league position (mark robins) not a cup win at Leicester. The bigger picture is we need Dunne and Smyth to help stay out of that drop zone . You may not agree but you have to accept that that may be the clubs and Marti’s priority . He put out a team he thought would be competitive and he was right . 3 terrible individual errors in the first half and we concede 3 goals . A coach can’t do anything about that . And for the 4th and for the 6th. He wouldn’t have expected his players to fold like that so maybe just maybe the players should hold their hands up as JCS alluded too. 25 pages of whining . Blimey . How many pages was the Luton match thread after a great victory ? And 1 last thing that if taken the wrong way will upset everybody but it’s not meant too. I’ve read that the 4500 didn’t deserve that starting line up. The 4500 were incredible yesterday as I’ve said previously. Loud , proud and just brilliant . But surely not one of the 4500 bought a ticket without wondering if we might just play a weakened team and if you did then that’s a bit naive . In the end we left Dunne , Smyth and 18 year old kid out who has made 12 appearances. Nardi would have made little to no difference as Walsh had no chance with any of the goals . The team could have been a hell of a lot weaker in truth . Chair, Varane, Field, JCS, Saito, Kolli, Ashby, Paal all started and have started league games in the last 2 weeks . Edwards will start games going forward so how weak was it really? Too late perhaps but Smyth, Colback and Frey got minutes . So just Dunne then. And I read that we’ve rested most of the squad and we’ll still lose at Plymouth ? Most of the squad?? Listen I don’t expect our fan base to accept losing 6-2. It hurts . Some of the criticism has been fair and deserved . But 25 pages, multiple threads , personal attacks , calling the coach and someone who continues to polish and ever growing turd….a liar…. Come on . Your first paragraph is the football internet in a nutshell . Disappointing but we move on. Especially after reading the thread about Andrew . Puts it into perspective |
| Forum Reply | Andrew Slade at 16:55 11 Jan 2025
This is terrible news. Known Andrew from going to QPR for the last 15 years or so and we often stopped and chatted . Unbelievably sad to read this just now as I didn’t know . That’s now 3 friends die in 5 days . Devastating , plus my son’s partners best friend who died of ‘flu’ at the age of 26 on Wednesday . Been a terrible week and puts our result today in to perspective . It’s not important . Rest easy Andrew, Jason and Freddie. |

Fair point . Don’t fully agree as there could be loads of reasons why he wanted to put a player on and I only say that through experience, but I understand your point and reasons . |

I do think we should be looking to move Madsen out on loan for the remainder of the season. I just think that this league is way too quick and physical . Clive already told us that many other scouts and clubs left him alone for this very reason. He ours for the foreseeable future so maybe a loan to Scotland or something might help . Lesser quality but just as physical? Not sure, but he is a five a side footballer and can’t cope with our football as it stands . The fact we have paid more money for him than we have for anybody else for yonks , means questions should be asked at the ‘fans forum’ next week . Oh I forget , the questions are controlled and vetted beforehand . Silly me [Post edited 11 Jan 16:44]

Works both ways . Maybe the player he replaced needed replacing . We always seem to forget that the bench has all the data there. We don’t, yet we (including me ) think we know best . |

Fair assessment I think . Expected a sub or 2 at half time myself and we didn’t pounce on the momentum turning our way with Kolli’s goal . 5 mins later it’s too late |

Our attitude to the trophy competitions, is why our 'honours' list is so pathetic. Yeah because if MC picks Dunne, Smyth , Morgan and Nardi today , we’d be everyone’s favourite to win the cup this year ! Give over |
