But he has been more pony than this, on a Madsen pony scale it seemed sort of mid pony, rather than full shetland. |

After Swansea I thought we might get destroyed given the injury situation in certain key roles is getting worse. Instead very pleasantly surprised that such a makeshift side did so well. Lost one game in last 6 and taken 11 out of 18 points, Swansea aside we have been difficult to beat. We are not in relegation form and particularly like that we are scrapping for every point with a comparatively thin squad, but also that we are seeing quite a bit more of development squad players getting first team experience that they and we will benefit from later on. That we further dented Norwich's aspirations is even sweeter. |

Interesting how close the squad is. Name checks the manager for letting him play and "having his back" and Madsen for sitting at house in his absence whilst workers were there. They all seem to have been really supporting him during what is a terrible time. These are the types of reasons I love my club. |

Made the mistake of looking at LFW whilst logged out. So much better logged in as the ignore user setting cuts in. |

Been on here too long and rivals before that. I may not post as much as I'd like now because of caring duties (which seriously interrupts my getting to HQ at the moment - but that almost feels like a blessing this year) but what everyone else has said. I may disagree vehemently with some, laugh with others and genuinely shed the odd tear a few times this year, but I do read and enjoy most. Clive you and the LFW writing crew are brilliant. XTC baffles me the most, but love him just the same. Disco - awesome, insane madness. Brian CTN, top man. The rest of you awesome people too. LFW is addictive and its posters make it work. If only the football was as good it would almost be enjoyable! |

If you are are after over ear wireless headphones for a budget then the JBL and Soundcore budget offerings are both pretty decent and you should be able to pick up something like JBL710 (unusual in that are a wireless headphone with a wired option) for £35-45. Soundcore Q20's also fit the spec and are on special on Amazon at the moment for around £32 and very good for that money. If its in the ear ones you are after, options are plentiful, I'd again suggest taking a look at the SOundcore offerings as a starter, depending on your budget and shape preference they have very creditable ones between £20-40 price ranges that tick the boxes you are after. One other brand I have had in the past and been surprised by is SoundPeats, not so much a budget brand, but maybe less well known, but you tend to get a decent product for the money so see if there is anything in their £30-40 pound ranges and it will usually be decent. You can go down the more generic route as well, Lenovo have been pushing into the market a lot of the past year and they do have some very good budget offerings around the £20 mark. |

Wasn't there quite a bit more to it than that? There was potentially meant to have been quite a few other moving parts in terms of transfers, loans etc. all going on between different clubs, players and agents. If we had a finite pot of cash, an agreed general principle to buy younger players with a sell on value where possible and a number of positions to fill to meet the managers overall wishes then there would had different combinations to balance those off. The conversation may have been we can have these 2-3 players for the cost of 1 or 2 other players, what would you prefer - more options covering more positions to give greater depth over the season or fewer players and more cover from the development squad? Suspect it might just have been on balance, whilst Hayden was good (and now looks to be an asset we could have done with) his salary would have been high, has been averaging less than 20 appearances a season for the past 4 years and would have next to zero sell on value. Looking at that objectively - he ultimately may have been quite low down our options list. No idea what is going on with Kolli, but it is clear the club see potential and Marti has started to use the kids in different roles when he can (or perhaps had little other choice). Hopefully they can sort it quietly behind closed doors, suspect that agents maybe the issue though. |

I was going to suggest the Mosta Rotunda as well. Gorgeous place, but amazing bit of history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotunda_of_Mosta My parents were posted there when my dad was in the navy and they loved it. We used to go back frequently when we were young and fully support recommendations by others. Genuinely lovely place that somehow has blends so many cultures. Driving was a bit mad when I was last there so be careful, otherwise fully recommend as a great winter sun destination (bit too warm for me in high summer). |

Must confess to being very confused when Car Trouble, Young Parisians and Dirk wears White Sox merged into Ant Music. Really was a fan of the early stuff and couldn't quite get into what most of the female population of my school at the time were. That said I think he was a unique talent, visionary in places and clearly very smart and savvy about he wanted to do. After getting stiffed by Malcolm McClaren he surrounded himself with very talented musicians and came back stronger. slightly jealous of you on this one mate, sounds like it will be a cracking gig. I am looking forward to seeing From The Jam (basically Foxton, Buckler plus Russel Hastings in place of weller) playing the Setting Sons album at Shepherds Bush on 6 December. Ruts DC supporting (having met Paul Fox when I was in my early teens that will be interesting) also have a clash tribute band in support playing called London Calling. Promises to be fun. |

Kinda of agree, kind of don't. Next in line from the production line approach to takeover from Southgate was Carsley. For all of the affinity/knowledge or the under 21's that he has, that doesnt look like it has necessarily convinced in taking over the senior squad through its transition. Shame he wasn't given the next 3 games before a decision was made, but he hasn't convinced at this point, and handling of the media which projected some ambivalence towards taking the role substantively probably didn't go down too well. May have been clumsy misspeaking, but a bit careless. That uncertainty would I am sure have been playing on the minds of FA who I suspect had sounded out informally a number of potential "rated" managers to see who would potentially be available and willing. Suspect that list was a short one, probably even shorter when Klopp decided he wanted more money in Germany working for Redbull with much less stress (albeit undying dislike from most German fans). Pretty sure Pep went nope as well. After that its a small selection of young English managers. So whilst not my choice I can see the logic of why they have made the decision. |

Totally agree. Trouble is he wasnt a permanent fixture for Southgate and hasnt played for Carsley as a youth player. Got one game with Carsley to show what he could do and for whatever reason that didnt work in that one game. What he brings though is completely different from the options that Carsley had today and creates different problems for defenders. A great option from the bench to change things. Fear he wont get another chance with Carsley in charge, but that said I dont see Carsley as being the long term option for England either. Like the idea of the continuity candidate who will progress from U21 to senior manager as he in theory knows most of the players well who he will be using. But that assumes Carsley is sufficiently capable at the next level. Tonight the Greek manager was tactically years ahead and made him look very average. |
