Area you dislike the most in London
at 07:27 28 Oct 2014

Grew up in the Burnt Oak, Edgware and Colindale area and moved away 12 years ago my god the area has gone downhill and quickly. Whenever I drive through the area now I cant quite believe how bad it has become. Colindale is just one massive building site, new flats everywhere on infrastructure that just about managed to cope when I lived there.

The whole area seems to be a hell-hole and that comes from someone that now lives in Stevenage.

Lower Loft Supporters Group
at 09:21 24 Sep 2014

I'm in.

Been sitting in the lower loft for near on 20 years and before that as a steward in the same block. (when the stewards were QPR fans, not the lot they have today!)

Was forced to give up my season ticket a few years back when they kicked out adults without kids, the irony was I have 2 kids the oldest of which I would have started to bring that very season, but as he was only 5 I didn't want to get him a season ticket (even though it was free) and take up a seat that he would only have used a few times.

I think the way the club have approached this family stand business from the very start has been very poor indeed. In fact the way the club treat the fans in general has been poor for a number of years. We are no longer the family club we used to be.

The rules really won’t affect me anymore as I pick and choose my games now and I bring both kids with me, but around me the guys that have sat there for many years are slowly going, some that were kicked out originally and some who's kids are now too old to sit in the lower loft have either been moved or do not come any more. How is that right?

There seems to be very little respect for us fans in football now days, it’s all about the TV money, but a club the size of QPR cannot really afford to forget about, as a certain Italian once said "us £20 fans" as we are the club and we make the club what it is.

It’s a real shame that our current owners, for all the drinking with the fans in pubs after games, etc are really not all the different to the previous ones.

It’s all about the money!

No Loft, with no child
at 07:26 24 Sep 2014

Agree completely, I think the real issue the club here have is the complaints about the swearing (mostly from the attending their first football game types) and this is why they are stamping down.

A few seasons ago, I was chatting with one of their customer service reps that are in the lower loft, who midway through the game came and sat near us, was asking what I thought of the family stand etc and mentioned that he had to roam about as there were complaints about swearing.

I laughed at this as I pointed out to him that he was sitting no more than 5 meters from the bronze area in the paddock which is quite a, let’s say, "verbal" area or the ground.

Personally, I think swearing is part and parcel of the game and just like you essextaxiboy react the same way with my kids when I hear it.

I took my 4 year old to his first game v Sunderland and the first time the guys in the paddock swore he started shooting them with pretend webs (spider-man style), perhaps the club could try that as a solution rather than throwing loyal fans out of seats that they have sat in for years.

TBH though I think it is a joke for the club to have a family stand anywhere when it is quite obvious that over the last 3, 4, 5 years they have moved further and further away from being the family club we once were.

Morrison bust up with big Sam
at 08:24 24 Jul 2014

Not surprised by this tbh.

Went to the friendly they had with Stevenage.

Big Sam started him on the left, moved him to the centre and then moved him to a holding midfield role, all within the first half.

Its like Sam doesn't know what to actually do with him. They and him were very poor in that first 45 mins.

Luke Young played in midfield for the kids last night, did okay.

Have no idea what Bosingwa was doing, started at left back but couldn't have been less interested if he tried, the biggest cheer of the night from the QPR fans was when he was subbed at half time.

As for Anton, he had an okay 70mins, however, I noticed he looks completely shot of any confidence whatsoever and both goals came when he and Bosingwa were on the pitch, which says it all really.

Lower Loft Renewals...
at 20:46 22 May 2012

I really believe that this is an over reaction by the club because of what happened at the fulham match with the tiger cubs and a number of our older fans reacting to fulham colours being worn in our home end.

Not going to get into to rights and wrongs of this now but wouldn't be surprised if the club was planning more of these cross promotions in future.

In fact as a family stand does that mean all families, meaning away fans as well as QPR fans will be able to purchase tickets to sit there?

Lower Loft Renewals...

The key thing here is are we talking about the 300 odd season ticket holders or the fact that the club continued to sell tickets to groups that did not include kids that were not season ticket holders.

Example of which, a group of 4 twenty year olds sat directly behind me, not season tickets holders and no kids in there group, however they managed to sit in the lower loft for most of the season.

The 3 seats next to me that 3 twenty/thirty something women sat in as part of the clubs ticket bundles that were sold, again no kids in sight.

I honestly believe that some of the issues maybe were not the season ticket holders but other fans that if the club had stuck to there own rules should not have been there. Even flabio allowed existing season ticket holders to renew there....it been the family stand for the last 3 seasons.

Oh and By the way my seat is next to the paddock and the language coming from there well, it's interesting to say the least.

Yes I know that but I can not be bothered with the hassle to be honest.

If the club were really really serious about a family stand then they would take the financial hit on the 6 big games a season when they sell the lower school end to away fans and make that the family area instead.

I sit or should I say now that I used to sit in the corner of the lower loft right next to the paddock.

I have 2 children both under 8 (5 and2) but would never consider getting them a season ticket yet as I know they would not be coming to all the games and I would be wasting a seat that could go to another fan on the games they would not attend.

So as a result I need to move my seat....or get season tickets for my kids that are not really old enough yet, which I will not be doing for the reason above.

This is a joke of a decision and I reaLy do not understand for all the good things the club do how they can royally screw up the simplest decisions.

As a result of this I will not be renewing and as such will not be bringing my 5 year old to his first game next season because if I move my season ticket to a gold area I can not bring him for free to sit in the seat next to me.

Yes "innocent until proven guilty" is true however, but what is also true is that he is currently awaiting trial for a criminal offence.

In my job if I was facing a similar charge there is no way my employers would allow me to be public facing. I would be rightly moved to one side or possibly suspended on full pay until an outcome was decided by the court.

The FA as an employer (as is the case for the England Team) are completely and utterly wrong in this situation.

I have emailed KickItOut directly and there is no point with the FA as they have proved time and time again that they do not care about the fans.

The point of my email being that if KickItOut do not publicly condemn his selection, until he has been cleared of the offence, then they can never ever be taken seriously again.

This is a Joke!!!

By the way the email is info@kickitout.org

Is this the end?
at 07:08 27 Feb 2012

Hey Clive, don't get me wrong I was there early enough to see who they were and why they were there, others were not and as such the stewards (or more importantly the supervisors, who can at least hold a conversation) without explaining who or why they were there, looking more to throw out our fans rather than deal with the situation properly.

The fact it was allowed to happen the way it did was just QPR all over and I felt more sorry for those kids and their parents, of which some left pretty sharpish after half time, for some of the abuse they took from the fans that didn't know who they were. The club should never have put them in that situation in the first place.

They normally put the Tiger cubs in this area and this was the worst organised it has ever been despite there seeming to be more QPR staff about.

at 20:11 26 Feb 2012

They were the parents of a few fulham down syndrome kids and 2 fulham staff members who were doing the half time thing with the tiger cubs. A number of qpr office staff were with them including Dan Edwards and some of the rest of the comunity team.

This makes it slightly more bearable. However, whoever it was that thought this would be a good idea should be shot. As it looked as those these parents hadn't been told that they would be sitting in the loft end, yes the family stand, that still has a lot of season ticket holders from before it became that sitting there. They looked quite uncomfortable.

What annoyed me the most was that the stewards seemed to think we should just accept them being there!.

Possible area for our supposed new ground
at 19:09 10 Jan 2012

Tonight's Evening Standard has an article on the new high speed train line and mentions a new interchange at Old Oak Common near Wormwood Scrubs.

Could possible see our owners being very interested in a stadium situated in that development.
